I took a nap while driving

I went to the Asian Market today and went to the Dentist for my implant's check up. But before I went outside I already had a headache. I finished early in grocery shopping at the Asian Market so I went home and put the stuff I bought in the fridge and some in the kitchen. After arranging the stuff I bought, I still have 35 minutes left before my dental appointment so I read the new magazine that I bought to make use of my time. I was sleepy after reading a few pages on the magazine but had to go 15 minutes before my dental appointment coz I don't want to be late this time. Hubby asked me earlier if I need him in going to the Dentist but I said that I can go there by myself because I was thinking that he's been using his vacation and sick leave every time I have my dental appointment. Besides, today's visit is just to check if the healing process of the implant is doing good or not so nothing really important to discuss that needs hubby's opinion or presence. After a few minutes of driving, my headache becomes worst and I suddenly become more sleepy that I want to close my eyes so hard every now and then to sort of wake me up but something happened unexpectedly. While I was closing my eyes, I took a nap just maybe for a few seconds or I don't know if it's a minute or so but when I open my eyes, I was scared knowing that I was driving in the freeway. Good thing that there's no car in front of me or I might have hit somebody. I hit my little toy mickey mouse (the one I got when hubby and I had our vacation to Florida last year) that I hang in my rear view mirror and said "Mickey, I'm sleepy. Help me not to fall asleep." Call me crazy but I talk to my toy Mickey sometimes if I need to. It really scares me thinking that I took a nap as if I was taking a nap at the couch but I was actually driving... in a freeway. Oh boy, now I have to sleep early. I don't want it to happen again... ever. So I can't blog hop for now but tomorrow I will... hopefully.

Blog for money is a good alternative for those who love to blog and at the same time doing for the things you love. Working at home is a good opportunity for anybody especially to stay at home moms who are looking for a source of income to help their partner financially or just wanting to earn something while staying at home and taking care of the family. Blogging is one of those online money making system that most bloggers if not all wants to get paid to blog. And who doesn’t, right? I want to try this blog advertising, now that my blog has reached 3 months which is one of the requirements for a paid blogging. I never thought I can do this at first, but I was inspired by other Pinays to make my own blog and hoping to get paid for blogging someday like them. My Fortune Cookie Story

Last Sunday, I had a fortune cookie from my Chinese take out. For me, it wasn’t really a fortune but I noticed that the message I got from my fortune cookie is happening. Here is the picture of what I got in my fortune cookie last Sunday.

Yesterday which is Monday, was another ordinary day for me. I went to work in the morning and do what I normally do. A co-worker suddenly came to me and said “Michelle, everybody asked about your age… How old are you?” I answered “I’m 31 and soon to be 32 this coming October”. Then she asked again “What’s your secret?” I was stunned and don’t know what to say. Then I said “Nothing”. Honestly, I never expected it to happen. I mean, I am not a beauty queen or a model that a white pretty lady would be interested to ask about a beauty secret. I became quiet for a second then I said “Well, one thing is… I don’t wear make up.” Then she told me an incident where I think as what I understand it (hehe) that she has a picture recently with somebody and her mom saw it and said “You look 40 in this picture”. I can see in her eyes that she felt bad of how she looks but for me she’s pretty and skinny like me. She left and continues of what she was doing. I then think of what else I do in my face so I can share it to her and something popped in my mind… a moisturizer! I don’t think it’s a secret coz I thought everybody knows that we have to moisturize our face. I told her to moisturize her face and that many women said to always moisturize, moisturize and moisturize your face and that’s their secret that they look younger than their age. She answered “I am trying to do that”. I guess she has a lot of problems at home coz she has 3 kids and I heard that she has a new bf which my little brain thinks that maybe she’s not living with the father of her kids anymore or I don’t know. That didn’t remind me about the message of my fortune cookie until somebody asked me again today.

This afternoon, a black young guy who is my co-worker asked me “How long you’ve been married?” (rolling my eyes trying to remember the exact months and year) and said “Hmm 1 yr and a half”. Then I asked “Why?”. He said that he was thinking of getting married but he’s not sure. So I said “If you’re not sure yet or if you’re having doubts or cold feet then don’t force yourself to get married” He keeps on saying “yeah, yeah.” He asked me again and said “If you want to have a baby, will you get married?” I said “No. If you want to have a baby, don’t get married just because you want to have a baby.” We talked about that there are lots of couples who were divorced because they didn’t understand each other and that’s not good for the kids. I said that he has to find a woman who won’t divorce him for better or for worst coz there are women who’ll divorce a guy if there are lots of problems already. So he has to make sure that the woman that he's going to marry is the one who would spend the rest of her life with him. But one thing to know about the person is to ask questions and more personal questions then put her into a test. Ask the same question again after maybe a couple of months or a year and study the answer if it's the same answer she gave the first time he asked her. If her answer changes, then she's a liar. Trust is very important in a relationship. Better and worst, happy and sad, arguments and understanding are parts of the marriage. I said that it’s hard to get out once you’re married. He was sort of surprise of what I said so I told him that I have friends in the Philippines who regret that they got married. And those friends told me not to get married because being single is much better than being married. And after hearing those words of regrets from my friends and complains that getting married is just a headache to them, I told myself that if I can’t find a person who can’t and won’t understand me about my wants and needs then I better be single for the rest of my life. I just don’t want to have a headache and I hate arguments. But that’s not my destiny. I told him to think about it a million times, he's only 18... Too young to get married.

I remember the message of my fortune cookie and when I arrive home, I looked for it and took a picture so I can share this story. I normally keep the messages I got from my fortune cookies and hubby’s fortune cookies, especially if it’s a good one. :)

Foods for my little tummy... :)

I was craving for Filipino foods lately and the taste closest to it is the Chinese foods. Yesterday I planned already not to go to Church early coz I want to go to the Chinese Buffet close to another Church that has a 5:30 pm mass. I planned to have a take out only coz I already cooked a steak for hubby. Besides, having a take out is more practical for me coz I only eat a little. Though I didn’t know if that Chinese Buffet has a take out, we still went there to check and if they don’t accept take out, then my second option is going to Little Caesar’s and have a pizza. After the mass, hubby and I headed to the Chinese Buffet. I was sooooo happy to see the Styrofoam/box at the counter. Hehe I grab one right away and chose the foods I want to eat.

And here’s what I got last night… Seafoods and fried rice! Haha

I wasn’t able to finish everything so I reserved the rest for today’s dinner.

Now, the box is empty. hehe

Most Sociable Blogger Week 2 Award

Last week I was nominated by Bregie for the Most Sociable Blogger Week 2 at Jessie's site... I’ve been blog hopping for those who are in my list from day 1 then Bregie and Ellaine were also campaigning for me which I am grateful having friends like them. I want to thank these two lovely ladies who were there for me all the time.

There were days where I don’t have enough time to blog hop which I felt guilty if I couldn’t do it coz I am the one asking a favor to those who visit and voted me so I have to thank each of them by visiting their blog, leaving a message or comment on their posts and at the same time asking for their votes again for the next day. At first I thought I can’t make it coz I have to blog hop to ask for votes if I want to win and at the same time, visit the blogs to those who leave a message in my cbox except for those names that are not clickable then I can’t leave a message for them. It’s just too much for me to do all that coz I have to go to work also and there are things that I need to do. But as the time goes by, I see the contest as a challenge. The friends who left me a message that they voted on me, cheer on me, happy when they saw that I am leading, those who promised me not to worry coz they will vote for me everyday… are the ones who keep me going. I don’t want to fail those cheerers, supporters, loyalist or whatever name you call them. They made me win. So the right word is not I WON, it is WE WON!

Honestly, I am not really a sociable person. I agree with one blogger named joevic who left a message on my cbox and said “thoughtful blog huh”. I consider myself as thoughtful but not sociable. But those who believe in me made me a sociable blogger. :)

I learn something from this contest even if it was just a week. There are some who never fails to vote, some ask sorry coz they forgot to vote then they vote again, some said they will vote but didn’t vote again, and so on. Now I know which one that I can count on when I ask a favor. I bit you want to know who they are so when it’s your turn, you can ask them to vote for you. Hehe Don't worry, you'll know who they are... just continue reading for now. :)

I was not feeling well, I over slept and I was late for work…

Last night I tried my best to sleep early after reading Juliana’s post about sleeping. I went to bed at 11:00 PM but I was waiting for hubby coz I can’t want to sleep with the lights on. So while waiting for hubby, I picked up the O magazine and read some of the articles in there. I finally went to sleep at maybe 12:30 AM. But I suddenly woke up at around 2:00 AM; I can’t understand what I feel coz I wanted to sleep again but my mind was occupied of what happened recently at work, whether I said something wrong or the right words. I am sometimes like that coz there are times where I say the wrong words and after thinking about what I said, I realized that I said the wrong words that might hurt others feelings. Then I felt that the room was hot so at 3:00 AM I told hubby about the temperature of the room and he lower it down for me. But he was wondering coz 75 deg is still cold for me but not this dawn, even if he lowered it into 70 deg I still feel hot. Hubby thought that maybe I’m sick so he told me to take my temperature to make sure. I didn’t have a fever but my body was so warm. I just keep on sighing and force myself to sleep again but still I can’t. I was hungry after 2 hrs of thinking and so I get up and took a snack. I then heard my phone beeps so I checked. It was a text message from Philippines, a relative of mine who asked me of when I come back to the Philippines coz they miss me and the last words were asking for a Christmas present which she said "just a cheap cell phone". She also said that I don’t need to send the cell phone right away, maybe after a couple of years when it’s ready. I never asked anybody to send me something not unless they are very close to me or if a person close to me will ask me if they want to give me a present. And if I do ask, I also want to pay for it, not for free. So receiving a text message asking for something gets on my nerves. I don’t want to barter love with money. As what I understand it, when somebody said "I love you and I miss you" and ask something that involves money, the love and miss is not true. The true "I love you and I miss you" doesn't ask anything from you but hoping and wishing that you are okay knowing that you are very far from your family. Living here in USA means spending also in dollars and not in pesos. Money don't grow in trees here or can be found on the road. You have to work hard first before you get it. That’s why I prefer not to communicate with them coz I can only hear two things whenever I call, they always have no money and they always have a problem which after talking to them, I can’t sleep thinking about what they tell me and hubby also can’t sleep trying to comfort me. Anyways, after reading the text message and eating my snack I then went to bed. I told hubby about it and we talked a little bit then after I finish venting I sleep at maybe 5:30 AM. I woke up at 8:49 AM and my work is 9:00 AM. Waaaaaa I was dreaming that I was already in the Philippines. I don’t know what to do knowing that I have to drive 15 mins to work and I need to take a shower and everything. So hubby suggests calling work that I’ll be late for an hour. I did call work as soon as I get up and tried to go work ASAP. No questions asked why I was late when I arrived then I start to work right away. Haha This afternoon, after work I checked my YM and received an offline messages from my sister telling me of another problem from our business in Cebu. Oh boy, I think that’s the reason why I wasn’t able to go back to sleep right away coz somebody is thinking about me and most of the times, if I feel what I feel last night, it’s always a bad news even with the thousand miles apart, I can feel it. (Sigh)

Anti-biotic Pill Stuck in My Throat

Hubby went to bed at 1:30 AM, then I followed hubby to bed to go to sleep but remembered that I have to take my anti-biotic pill for my tooth implant. After I took the pill which already cut in half, I went to bed again. Later, I noticed that the pill stuck in my throat. It happened to me once this week also that’s why hubby cut all my anti-biotic pills in half. When I told hubby that the pill stuck in my throat again, he was worried. I get up and ate pork rinds thinking that it will help push the pill in my throat then I drink water after. I went to bed again but still I can feel that the pill is still stuck in my throat. I get up again and went to the kitchen to eat orange hoping that it will help. While I was eating the orange, hubby followed me to the kitchen… worried about me. Hehe He then told me that maybe next time I’ll just chew the pill or maybe cut it into smaller pieces so it won’t be stuck in my throat anymore. I don’t really like the taste of the pill and so I reacted that I don’t like the taste. Hubby suggested that maybe I can hide the pill in a food so I can taste the food and not much with the pill. I did not finish the orange coz I thought that the pill was not stuck in my throat anymore so I went to bed. But then again I can feel that the pill only moves a little bit but still stuck in my throat. Oh boy, I don’t know what to do anymore. When I lie down, the food I ate wants to come out in my mouth. So hubby said that maybe I just have to sit or stand up for a while. I sit down for a few seconds then decided to just go back to the computer and finish the orange while waiting for the pill to slowly go down into my tummy. I copied different kinds of recipes already from the internet but still the pill won’t move downward. It’s almost 3:30 AM and here I am, still in front of the computer waiting for the pill to go down into my tummy but it didn’t work. Plus I think I drink too much water that I can feel the food in my tummy will still come out if I lie down. Huhuhu Maybe I’m sick or I got an acid reflux. This is making me nuts. My eyes are tired and wanted to take a rest but half of my body won’t cooperate. I better force myself to sleep; this is giving me a headache already.

Trying to sleep early...

I said in my post yesterday that I’ll try to sleep early, but that didn’t happen as planned. Hubby and I arrived home from Walmart at midnight already then we carry the stuff we bought which took some time also and arranging where the stuff went and need to be kept. I think I went to bed at 1:00 AM again same time the other night but hubby and I started talking about anything that I can think of (hehe) and before we know it, it’s already 2:00 AM. Hmm I know that I’m going to work sleepy and will be yawning which what really happened today at work but we can’t stop thinking and answering about the topics that I started til I really felt sleepy an in need to shut my eyes off. Haha Tonight hubby went to bed early but I suddenly called him coz my laptop had an error. Huhu Poor hubby, he’s stuck with the laptop trying to figure out what happened, researching the internet but he wasn’t able to find the answer that he was looking for. Now it’s late again. I wish I can break this habit soon. Maybe after the contest coz I need to thank and visit the bloggers who voted and visited me here. So busy...

I was a little bit busy after accepting the nomination for the most sociable blogger coz I have to campaign (syempre) for this knowing that this is a contest. I know that those who supported me especially the one who nominated me were also busy campaigning for me too and I really appreciate and thank Bregie and Ellaine for that. There are more blogger friends that I know who voted and supported me and I wanna thank them too. I’ll mention the names later when I have enough time to sort it out. But even with that, I have to work on this too and not just depend on them. I did my campaign last night and some today but starting tonight, I might not be able to do some campaign or worst the blog hop coz hubby and I are also planning on arranging stuff in the house before Easter. I started cleaning and throwing stuff in the garbage (for those that I don’t need or use anymore) when I came home from work. I do check my blog and do a little blog hopping while cooking. Last night I went to bed at 1:00 AM already but this time I wanna go to bed early so I won’t be sleepy at work tomorrow... I wish I can really do that. Hehe It’s now almost 10:00 PM but hubby and I are still planning to go to Walmart to put gas on my car and buy something that we will soon need. Hmm Don’t know what time we’ll be home so for those who visit here and voted, I wanna say "THANK YOU SO MUCH"! Chicken Marsala and Vegetables for Hubby and Me

Hubby was still sick yesterday. He wasn’t hungry even if it was 3:00 PM already so I cooked something that he likes and healthy. The kitchen was a mess after I finish cooking but I got a good compliment from hubby that he had a great healthy dinner. Cleaning the mess after dinner was part of it. I’m just happy that he ate all that I put in his plate and he also finish some of my carrots, mushroom and chicken coz I’m full already. haha Besides, I’m not a vegetable and mushroom eater. I only force myself to eat vegetables that I’m not used to eat when hubby told me that I need to eat some coz if I don’t then I’ll get health problems when I’m old and won’t enjoy my days when I retire. Hmm But sometimes, I really won’t eat the vegetables especially the steamed one coz it taste bitter and tasteless. It’s easy for me to eat vegetables that has some flavor added to it like the MSG and other seasonings but hubby said MSG is not good, especially for the white man. Waaaaaaaaa

A fellow blogger emailed me about my blog as phishing site whenever she tried to visit. I have no idea what phishing site means and what it can do to my blog but I noticed yesterday that there’s not much messages in my cbox compared to the previous days but still my counter shows that I still have visitors coming in. Hmm Can somebody tell or teach me about this phishing site thing? You know that I am so dumb when it comes to this and I know for sure that there are bloggers out there who are smart when it comes to this blogging thingy. Thanks in advance. I will appreciare it if you'll leave a comment here that I can study and experiment later. :)

Hubby is sick

Hubby was sick yesterday morning. Good thing that yesterday was also my day off so I asked him if he wanted to eat chicken and rice soup which is in short the arroz caldo. Hehe Without any second thought he said “Yes, please.” We didn’t go out yesterday. I’m surfing the net and hubby sometimes went back to bed and if he gets up he plays with the desktop experimenting something that he can use at work someday. :)

I miss the fresh Fish in the Philippines

Yesterday I bought a fish that I thought hubby and I will like because it’s the most expensive fish in the grocery store where I went and the only one also that looks fresh. Growing up in the province, I can tell which fish is fresh or not. I just fry the fish with salt and pepper hoping that the result is great. Too bad, I didn’t like the taste. I am a fish eater but the one that I cook yesterday didn’t impress me at all. I mixed half of the fish into the vegetables so there’s some fish meat in the vegetables too. The smell is so strong that I hurriedly put an air freshener in the dining and bedroom so I can’t smell the fish anymore. But because I cooked a lot of the vegetables mix with fish yesterday, we had some left over for today. I planned to cook chicken marsala for dinner tonight but hubby prefers to finish the left over before it goes bad. When hubby heat the vegetables in the microwave, I smell the fish again. I almost throw up because of that but I didn’t tell hubby about it coz I’m sure that he’ll tease me knowing that I used to eat fish in the Philippines. Good thing that I still have a left over of my marinated milkfish. I just imagine that the fish I ate is fresh and taste the same like the one I had in the Philippines. Oh boy, I started to miss the fresh fish in the Philippines. I wanted to cook a fresh tulingan or galunggong season with salt then grill it. I’m sure the smell is sooo good and it’s very delicious. How I wish it’s in front of me now. Waaaaaaaaa

Here are my 6 quirky things...

1. I am a shy and quiet person but once I know the person better, I'm not shy anymore.

2. I am trying to be frugal to save for the future but once tempted to shop, I can spend like a one day millionaire too. hehe

3. I am not a good entertainer outside the house but at home I am a comedian, an actress, model, dancer, singer, chef, wife and a kid. Hahaha

Vegetables are good for you

It’s Thursday again and a good day to shop at the Asian Market for the newly arrived fresh vegetables. At first I thought that I can’t eat the vegetables that I used to eat in the Philippines coz I heard some stories about Filipinos who lived here in the USA that when they go back to the Philippines, they compare the food and vegetables. I heard complains about the taste because according to them that the Filipino vegetables are tastier and delicious compared to the vegetables here in USA. I agree with it but that doesn’t apply to all. Like the fish here are not fresh compared to the fish in the Philippines that are sold in the market. But for some of the vegetables, the taste is just the same. I was surprised when I first saw the bokchoy (pechay), chinese cabbage and sweet corn. I was more surprised when I saw the live crab at the Asian Market, then they have a young coconut, fresh pine apple, mango like the Philippine mango (but from other country), and most of all… the sweet potato (kamote) from the Asian Market reminds me the taste of the one we have in the Philippines. Hubby like it so much that he wanted me to go to the Asian Market every Thursday to buy more sweet potato. Hehe Too bad, he can’t eat the bokchoy for some reason. I like bokchoy but hubby tried eating it 3 times and it made him sick. There was one time when I didn’t told him that I added bokchoy in the beef stew. I didn’t serve the bokchoy so he will eat it but after eating it, he got some cramps. He lie down in the couch to take some rest hoping that the cramps will go away. Then I told him that there’s bokchoy in the beef stew. He wasn’t mad at me though coz I was smiling when I told him that. But I felt guilty afterwards. I just thought that maybe his tummy will get use to it if he will try eating it again but the result is still the same. Not good. Hehe Here’s a photo of what I got today. More sweet potatoes good for 1-2 weeks, singkamas (forgot the english word for that), butternut squash (will experiment the taste of this one) and green squash which is just the same as what we have in the Philippines.

Last night I signed up for a sponsored review but wasn’t able to finish doing what a blogger needs to do to make money thru blogging coz I didn’t add my blog yet for the reason that one of the requirements is that the blog has to be 3 months old already. This blog didn’t reach that long yet so I decided to wait. While checking the messages in my cbox, I glanced at my page rank and I was surprised of what I saw. It was 3 yesterday and now it’s zero! I felt sad thinking about my page rank but I also think that I’m not alone. I heard complains from other bloggers about it that it’s not fair. I don’t know if it really is not fair. I am new to this but they gave me a PR 3 already. Now that I signed up for a sponsored review, my PR goes down to 0 right away. I don’t know if there’s a connection between the two or what. All I can say is that I miss my PR 3 and I know that I have readers everyday because of my neocounter. I choose not to include my visits in my neocounter so I would know if I have readers everyday or not. I then thought and wish that I didn’t sign up for the sponsored review. But the damage has been done and I have to accept it. Life will go on and deleting my PR in my blog might be the best option so I won’t miss it again. I'm not upset but I'm sad. Now I know that if you want to have a good PR, then don't sign up for any money making stuff for your blog. :)

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful circle of friends thru this blogging world. I never expected of what my blog would bring to me. I once felt disappointed for being dumb about the html stuff that I can’t figure out how it works but despite from the disappointment, I continue to do blogging after receiving messages of encouragements from my blogger friends. I recently asked myself of who are the one making all the awards that my blogger friends gave me. I noticed that every award is unique and none of them are repeated. So I thought that those individuals who take their time to make and design the awards are the smart and generous people who just want to make others happy by giving the awards they made as a sign of appreciation. I am surprised and speechless when I saw this award that Bregie made just for me. I never thought that she’s one of those smart people who knows how to make awards for bloggers and I want to thank her for such a wonderful and awesome award that she made for me. Tornado Weather Again

I went to work today and this morning is not so cold outside but still I wore my jacket. When I left work, I am still wearing my jacket not knowing that the weather outside is so nice. It’s a bit warm this afternoon plus the sun is out. I remember this type of weather when one of my co-workers said that it’s a tornado weather and the night after she said it, I heard the siren because we were in tornado warning already. The next day, more than 50 people died because of the tornado. Oh boy, I hope there’ll be no tornado heading our way tonight.

My tooth implant today...

Today is another day off for me because of my dental appointment. I am scheduled to have a tooth implant today which takes two hours but aside from that, they are also going to check on the fillings and the crown which gave me a little pain when I ate hard foods. At first I didn’t bother about the little pain because I thought that it’s just a part of the healing process or maybe that’s the way it is and I have to accept it or if I want to eat hard foods, then I have to chew it using my front teeth. When hubby told them about it, they said that it’s not normal and they will check on that today also.

Hubby was taking the whole day off today which I’m happy that he did. (smile) We arrived 5 minutes late at the Dentist office and we waited for a little while before my name was called. They fixed the fillings and the crown first before they started the process for the implant. They put something into my gums where the implant is going to happen to numb a little bit before they gave me the shots. They gave me lots of shots which are painful because my gums are not numb yet but I didn’t complain. I just keep on praying that I can take the pain and that the implant is successful. There were series of steps when they were doing the implant. I keep on praying that God will guide the Dentist for doing his job so I won’t be in pain and that he would do the right thing. I saw a thin 1 ½ long screw like tool and after they use it, they took an X-ray of the area that they’re working on. I was guessing that the screw like tool becomes bigger and bigger coz they took an X-ray every after they finish using it for maybe 5 times. I was thinking again that maybe they are making a hole where they can put the titanium for the artificial tooth. After the fourth X-ray, the Dentist said “Perfecto” which means “Perfect” and after the last X-ray he said “Perfect”. He asked me every after break if I’m okay and I just nod. I noticed that there’s a thread-like stuff that fell on my face or touches my face which tickles me but I didn’t bother to move or complain and then I heard the Dentist cutting the thread-like thing which I thought maybe it’s a nylon. I heard him cutting many times so I thought that he’s doing some stitches in my gums. I never bothered to look coz I don’t want to see a needle. I just keep my eyes close and continue praying hoping again that the implant is successful. He then told me that I am a wonderful patient which made me feel better. After the implant he said “You sure are a great patient. Thank you for being a great patient.” I smiled and said “You’re welcome!” He instructed me to take the prescribed medicine right away and said that they want my blood to go up so soon so I thought that maybe I lost a lot of blood during the implant. I felt okay after the implant though, not dizzy or whatsoever but I noticed that my body is a little bit shaking. I’m glad that it’s now finish but I’ll be back again this Thursday for a check up. For now, I can’t eat solid foods yet. Oh well, soups are available. Hehe

Oh my, it’s awards night again. I am really very thankful and honored to receive these three awards tonight. Thank you so much my dear friends who keeps on remembering me when it comes to awards.
