Happy Birthday Dear!!!

Claira and Hubby...

It was hubby's birthday yesterday and I was kind of lazy to go out and buy something for him. I already asked him this week of where he wanted to eat for dinner and he name the resto that he liked to celebrate his birthday. Anyways, we end up going to the resto we both like. I told him that he can have a free dessert coz it's his birthday but he told me that he doesn't want the employees to sing him a birthday song coz they might scare Claira. We decided to order our favorite dessert and talking about dessert, I still have some left in the freezer coz I'm too full to finish my share last night. I just remembered it now. haha Going back to hubby's birthday. I forced myself to get out of the house so his day will be a special one.

Thanks to the suggestions but hubby is not into spa or massage. He just want to have what he needs so Claira and I went to the mall and bought 2 new pants for him. I did my research though before heading to the mall coz it was my first time to buy him pants. I kept telling him that he need to buy new ones but he's not doing it. I've been shopping shirts for him already and so I thought giving him more shirts won't be as surprising than the pants. Claira and I went to Hallmark to buy our cards and the first thing hubby saw on the table when he arrived home was his gift and 2 cards on top of it. I'm glad that Claira and I made him happy on his special day. I will do more in the future... (wink)

New Friends

Here we are at my friend's birthday party the one I mentioned in my previous post that took an hour to arrive there. The husbands were in the dining room chit chatting while the wives were having fun with the food, singing, dancing and of course picture taking. Claira cried many times in this event and it seems that she's having bad dreams after we attended this party. The ladies tried to help me carry Claira so I can eat but I think Claira didn't like it when they took her from the car seat and not from me or hubby. Hmm Next time I have to be careful. Claira didn't cry when my buddies for ladies night out carry her the other day in our gathering. I think she only like those who are familiar to her coz she's okay when my buddies carry her. Oh well, I hope she'll be fine when she grow up. I don't want to be carrying her all the time if we go out coz she's giving me body pain already. Mommy is too little to carry her all day long... now and in the future. haha

Unexpected Birthday

Me and my friends had a successful gathering today with foods, movie and chit chats of course. We didn't know that today is the birthday of my new friend's cousin. I only knew it when she called and asked if it's okay to bring a cake to celebrate her cousin's birthday who's been here for only 4 months. He's 18 today. We sung Happy Birthday to him and took a photo of him in front of his cake. Too bad, we didn't have any candle for him to blow. Maybe next time... But anyways, they were so glad that they meet my friends coz they enjoyed the food and the company. Hmm I have a plan in the future. I'm sure my friends will like what I have in mind right now. (wink)

We made it!

Just arrived at my MIL's place from the party. We were able to attend the party that I'm talking about in my previous post though we were a little bit lost because of the wrong names given. But anyways, hubby figured it out. It's a long drive but the three of us enjoyed the party. Now I'm sleepy and tired. Claira had her naps on our way to the party and way back home. Next plan is calling friends for another gathering. Ilocana and I agreed to have a cook in this week coz it's been a long time since we had one. I met another Filipina at the mall last week who's new here. I wanted to invite her in our cook in so she can meet my friends too. She's also Bisaya and she's looking forward to meet new friends. I'm sure she'll enjoy the cook in coz that's what Pinays here like to do. It's fun to be with Pinay friends not to mention the good foods that we're going to cook. It will be full of laughter and chit chats for sure. :)

New Friendship

Aside from the group of friends that I normally meet every now and then with our ladies night out date, I have another set of new friends. Most of them are Bisaya and only one speaks Tagalog but she's also nice. They are the Filipina ladies I met from a friend's wedding and it seems like they wanted me to be part of their group too. I received an invitation for a birthday party which I don't mind going but the problem is they are 45 mins. to 1 hour travel from our place. That is really far coz driving on the road for me is time wasted. The event will be tomorrow and these girls were calling me today many times coz they really wanted me to be there so I can get to know them well. I have nothing against them and even Claira is so at ease the first time she met them. In fact, Claira enjoyed it when they're carrying her and playing with her. I was just observing if she's going to cry but she just smiled. I don't know. Hubby doesn't really want to drive that far but these ladies are so nice to me which made me want to attend the party. Hubby told me that we'll go if he's feeling okay and if the weather is okay, he just don't want to promise so I won't be disappointed if we can't go. I hope he's up to driving far tomorrow so I can meet the ladies again. I think what I need to do is memorize the road so next time they invite me I can go by myself and Claira. (if I'm brave enough to do it) hehe I will post new pics of Claira soon. It's been a week already that I haven't posted anything here. I want to thank those who still visit this blog even if I'm not visiting theirs. I'll try to visit you guys again soon...

The Clock

... is ticking so fast everyday especially if there are lots of things going on. We sometimes forget the date and most of the time we're saying "oh, it's weekend again". It's good though but at the same time I still want Claira to be the baby. I know it won't happen but how I wish time ticks slowly for just a bit. Claira will be 6 months old 2 weeks from now and getting bigger everyday. Even the strangers we met said how big she is and we know that she won't stop growing. It's really true that babies grow so fast. It's just like yesterday when she was born and now she's starting to say some words. Amazing how babies learn things step by step. Soon she'll be walking with mommy and daddy.

Mental Telepathy

It seems that this mental telepathy thingy is working with me. I experienced before when I was in the Philippines that my friend who's also a secret admirer of mine would suddenly appear in my dreams then after a week he'll call me which give me the chance to tell him about my dream and he would just say "oh, i was talking about you that day with my friend". It happened to me many times and he just laugh. Now that I am here in US, the mental telepathy still works when it comes to family and relatives. Just like today, I am tired and sleepy but I can't sleep. So I decided to turn ON the computer and texted my sister. She told me that she was thinking of emailing me coz she has a very important thing to tell me. Ahhhhh Now I know why I can't sleep coz somebody's been thinking of me. And it happened not just once but multiple times already. It's weird but once I have the "can't sleep mode", I know that there's something coming... most of the time it's bad or somebody is just thinking of me. Do you experience that too?

Sad Story

I just had a little chat with my neighbor in FB. I was pleased that she admire my beauty despite my age. Naks! At first she was asking me about my secret then she told me about her sad love life. She's only 24 but her mom worries that at her age she's still single. I was wondering a little bit coz she said that her family doesn't want her to have a bf but I didn't ask and just let her talk. She's from another country and their tradition is somewhat similar to where I'm from. She had a bf secretly even if she's afraid of her parents but both of their parents don't like each other because of their status. Her bf's family are rich while hers is not. Their relationship as bf/gf continues to grow even if both families are against it then her bf's mom called her everyday and threatened her so she'll break up with him. And because she's afraid of the threat, she broke up with him which made her bf upset and started drinking. Her bf's mom sent her bf to New Zealand and US so they won't meet again but that didn't stop them from communicating. Her bf still calls her until one day her bf and his mom had an argument during his mom's visit to New Zealand coz his mom wants him to marry the rich cousin. Her bf said that his cousin is just like a sister to him so there's no way that he'll marry the cousin. Her bf and his parents had an argument again and her bf was drinking (maybe drunk) and desperate about the situation so he went out and drive his car which he died from a car accident.

She said that maybe that's the reason why she look old even if she's just 24 because she cry a lot. I just hope that she'll find peace someday. I know that it's not easy to lost someone you love and I want to cheer her up if possible.

Thinking of something...

I've been thinking of what to do for my DH's birthday. He's been working really hard lately so he deserves something good on his special day. I was thinking to order an ice cream cake in our favorite ice cream store but he's trying to avoid sweets so I was thinking of taking him out for dinner and just order our favorite dessert. I was also thinking of buying him the shirt that he like (has bamboo material) but his size is not available. I know a nice card will make his day beautiful but I should do something to make his day really special. Any suggestions? ^_^

My Friend's Wedding...

A friend of mine who's originally from Cebu Philippines invited me to attend her wedding last Sept. 5, 2009. It was a simple wedding but nice. The wedding just started when we arrived so I took pictures when the bride walk down the aisle. Little did I know that the Priest told them not to take any pictures during the wedding ceremony coz it's not a fashion show. Opps! We were late so I didn't know. hehe Good thing hubby told me to turn off the flash when I took another picture during their exchange of vows. Oh well, the photographer also took some pictures when I started taking pictures. Sorry Father, I didn't hear what you said coz I'm late. We were lucky that the Priest didn't give us a lecture after the wedding. hehe Next time I won't take a picture during the wedding ceremony anymore. I think that's the rule in the Church. I was glad though that I met new friends from the next City. Most of them are Bisaya and I think only one is Tagalog. They are nice. They even carry Claira and pass to other Pinays arms. I was just observing if Claira will cry coz they are complete strangers but I was surprised coz Claira was just smiling and trying to put their fingers in her mouth. hahaha It was a nice event with the nice people.

The bride, me, and the pinay ladies. :)

Claira's First Words

Claira's been trying hard to talk lately and we pretend that we understand what she said. After saying ahgooo, gaga, uhuh, huh, nay/nai, nah, yesterday she was able to say mama, nana and da. According to the parenting class instructor when I was pregnant, babies say dada first coz it's easier to say it than mama. I'm teaching Claira to say mommy-mama, daddy-dada and grandma-nana.

Well, Claira did the opposite. Hmm I don't know what that means though but I hope it doesn't matter if she said mama first than dada.

She's exactly 5 months old in this pic.
