My beer day

My beer day without the beer last Sunday. We went to Church then headed to the mall not to shop for me but for the curtains and curtain rods. Whew! It took us half day just to decide which one we want to try first. Hubby sneaked to buy a birthday card for me and gave the card to me when we arrived home. I noticed it though under Claira's stroller while we're at the mall but I just pretend that I didn't see it. haha As if wala kita kunohay pero naka sense diay. hehe We had dinner at our fave Italian resto and went home. What a day! I wasn't even thinking of celebrating coz we still have a lot of things to do in the apartment but hubby decided to eat somewhere coz it's my special day. Naks! :)

Busy Moving

We're now busy moving. I had body pain and leg pain from going up and down the stairs bringing stuff to the car. Good thing the leg pain went away after 2 days of forcing myself to go up and down the stairs again. We still have 2 weeks to go and we'll be our here in the apartment. I know I'm going to miss this apartment but our house will give us more fun and happy memories. ^_^

The Skunk is Out

The Critter Catcher was successful in taking the skunk out in house without any damage in the master's bathroom and no stinky skunk smell, the smell when the skunk spray to protect themselves from their predator. The closing of the house was also a success so now it's time to pack, move and unpack stuff. Whew! :)

The Skunk postponed the Closing of the House

Yes, yesterday was supposed to be the closing of the house but unfortunately there's a skunk trapped under the tub of the masters bathroom. Hmm Hubby heard the noise the other day during the second walk through so he emailed the agent about it. Yesterday when we're on our way to the house for another walk through, the agent called hubby and told him that there's an endangered species underneath the tub. Hubby thought it's a snake or alligator but it's a skunk. They hired a Critter Catcher to catch the skunk and we're hopeful that the skunk came out last night so we can close today. What a skunk! We're hoping that it won't spray with it's stinky smell or else we'll be inhaling the bad smell for months.

Contest for Canadian Residents Only

Good news for Canadian residents only! Experience the new Maple Leaf Market website and find useful tips, recipes, coupons, contests and more! Check this out! They are giving away $32,000 for your Dream kitchen and 12 Frigidaire fridges for the launching of their new site. What a gift! I’ve been dreaming of having a big or let’s say huge kitchen after watching shows from HGTV. How I wish I’m one of the residents in Canada. But if I have a chance to win the kitchen makeover what I want to do is have a nice, pretty kitchen island that can also be used as table for eating. I also like to have the latest appliances particularly the stainless steel ones and a granite countertop with pendant lights for the kitchen island. That would be very nice. What a dream! Haha I know! It’s impossible for me to win this contest coz I’m not from Canada but Canadian residents have a big chance to own the kitchen they’ve been dreaming of. So why not grab this opportunity? Who knows you’ll be the lucky winner? Just check this out and wish you luck!

Not feeling well

Lately I've been feeling tired, sleepy and have body pains. I don't know what's wrong and last night it seems that I am going to have a fever. Oh boy, this shouldn't be happening coz we're going to move and I have to take care of Claira too. I tried drinking lots of liquids, neck and shoulder massage from hubby, salonpas patches and none of them get rid of my body pain. I don't know what to do anymore. I went to the Clinic to get my flu shot but they run out. Hubby went to one of the pharmacy's here who also give flu shot to customers but they also run out of the flu shot. Hubby and Claira had their flu shot already except me. I wish they'll provide some more flu shot so I can get one soon. There's a lot of illnesses going on here as what my friend's husband said coz her family were sick with fever and cold. I don't need those, not this month and in the future. Hoping for a quick recovery from this body pain I have.

My Life's Inspiration

Since I was a kid, I adore people who are very close to their family. My father died when I was 8 and I thought our family won’t be perfect anymore. But one person changed my point of view. Life can still be perfect even if one person in the family is missing. My Grade VI teacher in Elementary School is such a good mom to her 4 daughters even if her husband passed away. They are very close to each other and so sweet toward each other. She also treats her students as her kids so she’s like our second mother in school. I really adore my teacher and I am glad I am one of her students. She set a good example of what a good mother can do to her kids even if your partner can’t be with you anymore. I tried to search her at MyLife.com hoping that she’s in the system so I can communicate with her again. Unfortunately, she’s not in MyLife yet but I’m hoping that I’ll find her there someday. I’ll just keep trying until her name will show up. She’s just a good figther and a teacher and I want to be just like her. I know that it's not easy to raise kids by you alone but she never showed it to anybody that she's having problems with it. She's always energetic, sweet, caring and happy person everyday as what I remember.

Filipino Party

Last night I attended a Filipino party together with hubby and Claira. We arrived late because of the tornado warning plus hubby was hungry already I he ate dinner at home first before heading to the party. Claira was fussy and we thought maybe she'll like to go out so hubby decided to go to the party. Claira fall asleep in the car while we're on our way to my Pinay friend's house. It's actually a sort of prayer meeting for this month's black rosary just like Pinoy's in the Philippines do and it's been the tradition here to have pinoy foods after the rosary. We arrived just in time they started coz most of the guests arrived late too. I had fun chit chatting with friends and I enjoyed the delicious Filipino foods. Hubby and I had a little break from carrying Claira coz my friends were the ones carrying her so hubby and I can eat. Soooo sweet. :) No pictures this time though coz I was hungry already and concentrating on the food and stories. haha

Always hungry...

That's me lately. I don't know why but I kept on feeling hungry. I sometimes can't sleep at night coz my tummy is growling even after I had dinner. It's like I am doing again what I did when I was pregnant where I have to wake up in the middle of the night just to eat or eat something before going to bed. I know you might think that I'm pregnant again but my monthly visitor just finished visiting me so that's not the reason why I'm always hungry. hehe

I am really confused and I don't like the feeling of being hungry all the time. But I wonder if the slowing down of my breast milk has something to do with it. My milk slowed down for almost a month now and even if I took pills to produce more milk, it's not working. The practitioner told me that if it doesn't work then it doesn't work. A friend of mine told me to eat horseradish leaves with the stew and clams to produce more milk but the Asian Market here run out of the horseradish leaves plus I'm not a clam eater. I like to eat mussels though, maybe I'll try it instead of clams. Any tips from moms out there? :)

Risotto with Lobster

I'm in the mood to experiment in cooking again and I decided to try the lobster. Haven't tried cooking lobster in the past so I just bought the cooked lobster instead of the live one. Hubby is not a seafoods fan so I end up eating the lobster alone. I had some left over so I decided to cooked the lobster meat in a different way where hubby can eat also. I search for recipes online and found the risotto with lobster recipe. Jackpot! I have an arborio rice that I also haven't tried cooking. Good thing I have chicken stock in my pantry so I started cooking and the result ... YUMMY! Hubby liked it too! But it taste better the next day. :)

Claira at 6 months

She's now 6 months and 2 weeks old. She can now play by herself and cry when she's hungry or want mommy and daddy's attention. She's well behaved if we're outside in the restaurant or in the store except if she's hungry or wet then she'll cry.
But over all, she's a good baby. We even received comments from folks in the restaurant that Claira is the very well behaved baby they've ever seen. ^_^

Here are the pictures of our happy baby. :)

Body Clock

Claira's appointment was a success but because of her vaccines and flu shot her body clock changed. She wasn't sleeping the first night after she had her shots and she had a slight fever. Hubby and I also weren't sleeping coz Claira slept with us. We always do that everytime Claira's sick so we can monitor her. Besides, she's fussy if she's sick and hubby think that maybe Claira doesn't wanna be alone if she's in pain. For a couple of days Claira's been sleeping early in the morning and had naps during the day then fussy in the evening. But yesterday her body clock is slowly going back to normal again. She was able to sleep last night before midnight and woke up early in the morning today then went back to sleep. I hope she won't be fussy tonight... :)

Claira's appointment

Today is Claira's appointment for the Pediatrician. She'll get shots again for the vaccines and I'm sure she'll be screaming again. I wish everything will be alright afterwards so hubby and I can take a rest after Claira's appointment. We don't want Claira to be in pain and we don't want her screaming and crying from the hurt. Wish us luck! :)
