Am I ready to visit Philippines again?

Planning to visit Philippines is I thought as easy as buying a plane ticket but I'm wrong. I think you need to prepare yourself for the visit so if any of your plans won't work, you have another option of what to do next. I am planning to visit Philippines (which I don't know yet when) but there are things that needs to consider before I make the final decision. Honestly, I want to visit Philippines again because I miss the foods and want to shop there because it's cheaper. Besides, they have my size so it's easier for me to find stuff that really fit me well unlike here in US. I also want to have a vacation in my own country and see the beauty of the Philippines. But there are also risks involve if I go there. The long ride of the plane across the ocean and transferring from one plane to another, waiting for the flights by myself and adjusting my body clock when I'm there and when I come back here. Not only that. There are people who ask money from you even if you don't know them. Aside from that, I worry if my family, friends and relatives wants to spend time with me all the time coz I want to enjoy my life there too with my sister. I want to have a food tripping with my sister coz that's what we do in the past when we're together. I don't think I have time for everything but the good thing is it's just a plan. hehe I got some tips from my friends here which kinda scares me a little bit. One friend told me that I should stay in a hotel so I can take a rest whenever I want to. She said that the first time you go back to Philippines, you experience different kinds of emotions. You'll be happy, sad, pissed, tired and so on. Then she told me her story of staying in her Aunt's house. They are supposed to stay in a hotel with her kids and husband but her Aunt insist to stay in her house for a week which what really happened. She said that everytime they eat, she pay for everybody. So the last time she went home with her husband and kids, they stayed at the hotel for a week before they fly back here and she said that she enjoyed it better than with her family and relatives. Why? Because they can go out and eat what they want when they want to without worrying of how much it cost and how many people going out with them. In short, they have the freedom to do what they want without worrying about other people around them. She also said that when she stayed longer at her family and relatives house, people came to their house, knocking the door and ask for money, medications, presents and even for the wine or cigarette. Friends also keep calling on the phone coz they want their share too. Oh my, that's too much! There's a lot of problems that occurs when somebody from abroad arrive. There's one woman who pawned her land to my cousin's husband (when he visit my cousin in the province) because she needs money for her daughter's education. They agreed of when she can get the money because my cousin's husband felt pity after hearing those lies. She kept visiting my cousin's family to get the money even if it's not the right date yet that they agreed on. Then we heard a story from somebody else that the same woman pawned her land to other people who also have money. In short, she's a scam artist trying to get free money from other people. What about family and relatives who ask you money? My cousin said that before they fly back here in US, she got extra pesos in her wallet so she gave them to her parents, siblings, nephews and nieces. Everybody received the same amount but one complain coz she want more. Grrrr! That's a shame! I guess I better not bring and not give anything to be fair. Besides, I want to travel with a lighter weight luggage so it's easy for me to go around. I think a treat for dinner would be enough and a little talk while eating coz we don't know when I can visit them again. I believe that too much talking is already a gossip and I don't want to be in trouble. It will only give me a headache and sleepless nights. Not good for my health. So the answer to that question is, I'm not ready yet. :)

What I just read are all true. Sometimes people think that you are uber rich when you are abroad. Yes, you can spend some but not for all of them, not everything you brought from overseas. And dang, if it's just some random people, that's like waaaaaay too much ae? Oh dear. Sometimes, I don't like the mentality of some people about going abroad. lol. I wanna go home. And I am aware that there are MORE Filipinos who wanna get out of Philippines. Like why? Haaaays. I feel more at home here. HAHA. Oh well.

Hate to admit but it's true. Filipino mentality often complicates and affects our plans but then again, try not to..After all, you are the boss so you do what you have to do..

Thanks lovely ladies for all the comments and for reading my looong post. haha Yeah, it's very frustrating that our kababayans back home think that the abroad people won a million coz they want to get their share even if it's not really theirs in the first place. Oh well, I think I'll just observe of what the result would be when I visit Pinas again and think of another plan for the next visit. If there's next time. :)
