I'm so Happy! :)
Guess what? I was craving for Filipino foods last week and most of the time I keep on thinking how to make those foods that I crave before going to sleep. I ask my Pinay friend at work if she know how to cook the mung beans (otan munggos) and she told me how it's done. I tried cooking it but not sure if it really taste like the one I like. So I surf the net and look for Filipino recipes and yeah, I forgot the ginger and pepper! Whew! I was so happy that I got the right taste that I'm looking for. It was yummy and hubby loved it too! Woohoo! :)

This is my desktop's screensaver lately. I was looking for old pictures and found this one very relaxing. I love this place and I miss it now that I'm here in US. It's a place where I was born, eat fresh fish from that sea and go swimming with family and friends in a walking distance beach. I am the one who took this picture last year 2005 during the Good Friday. :)

Vegetable stew in the Philippines...
I am not a vegetable lover but I miss this vegetable stew which we call "Utan bisaya" in the Philippines normally in Cebu and Leyte part. My Uncle really knows how to make this one and it's so yummy. Though I don't eat all the vegetables in this stew but I eat the okra and most of all sip the soup. The taste of the soup is so delicious, I can't wait to have it again. I was craving for this just this week so I search for this recipe and found it. Whew! Thanks to Yoh for posting the ingredients, now I can make one for me. :)

Mobile phones
Mobile phones nowadays are very useful not only for business but also for communicating family and friends. I know a friend's daughter who really loves to get the new cell phones and pass the old one to the younger sibling and a cousin of mine just gave it away to family members in the Philippines as a gift. In the past, mobile phones are those who are in business only but now, even kids have one already so they can call their parents if something goes wrong with them and vice versa. As I was surfing the net, I found this website imobileplaza that sells different brands of cell phones that you might like. They have Blackberry, Motorola, LG, PalmOne, Samsung, Nokia, Ericsson, Apple and more. I was thinking of replacing my old cell phone with the one that has a big screen in it so I can surf the net easily while I’m on the go. It would be nice to have a phone with a big screen, right? Anyway, you can check this website http://imobileplaza.com/ if you are looking for a new one.

Featured Friend of the Week!
Thank you Jenny and Kerslyn for making me your featured friend of the week.
It's your time to shine! My blog was featured as one of the top 5 picks of the week by Jenny and I will do the same for 5 other friends. When you feature your friends’ blogs, you will help increase (hopefully) their page rank and yours. You can read more on this here and here. So keep the ball rolling, make your own 5 featured friends. To return the favor, make sure you include the name of the person who recommended you.
Example:
1. Butchay is one of our featured friends.
2. So when Butchay will make her featured friends for the week, she has to include my name and she will pick 4 or 5 more from her own list of friends.
3. She will inform ALL her featured friends to keep the ball rolling. If you use Blogger, you can add your featured friends using the new page element ‘Link List’.
I want to pass this to my friends ellaine, bregie, butchay, lerlyn, juliana, Jenny, and Kerslyn.

Online Coupons
Online coupons are now very popular especially for frugal mom’s or those who want to save some bucks for their groceries and things that their family needs. At first I didn’t know how I can save money from coupons but after hearing stories from friends and watching shows on tv where there are mom’s who really saved a lot of money because of that, I was really amazed on how it works. I then started to try using coupons that the stores sent us in our mailbox which really save me some money. For online shopping, I found a website where you can get
promo codes, coupon codes and promotional codes so when you shop online next time, you can use them and save money too. This website Savings.com offer coupons from lots of stores like Orbitz if you want to travel across the country then use this link Orbitz-coupons, Macys using this link Macys-coupons, and a lot more. So if you want to save some bucks, go check the website.

Need Web Hosting?
Web hosting for me who’s not a computer geek is hard to do but for others who are interested and have the time to spend long hours on how to learn about it would really be able to make it. At first I don’t understand how it works but after a few years of surfing the net, I now know what it is for and how useful it is. For those who want good designs and graphics or codes that you don’t know how to make it yourself and want an easy way out, I have a good news for you. You don’t need to surf the net anymore looking of what’s the best one that you can use right away or if you want a custom theme for yourself then this website can make one for you with a nominal rate. I found this web hosting website very interesting because you can download the ready to use text pattern themes, blogger templates and more. Now I know where to go if I need help in changing templates or themes in my blog. I’m glad this website http://www.kaushalsheth.com/ is sharing their good works to people who are not familiar with the codes. Honestly, I am so thankful to have such a web hosting site like this.

My snack today...
Nyahaha I was craving for Filipino foods lately and saw this green mango. I was eating the green mango with the alamang (hipon in bisaya) while watching tv and while waiting for hubby to come home. I know, some of you are drooling just by looking at this. Sorry, I'm bad today. I guess this is the result of my antibiotic. :)

A Sunny Day
It's nice outside today so I went to Asian Market early but the store is closed. I went home right away instead of going to my friend’s house coz I felt I need to rest again. I don’t know but I felt like I need some fresh air. When I arrived home I open all the windows even if the wind is cold. I turned off the heater and wear a sweater to keep me warm. I was happy to hear the birds again, the trees outside and the light from the sun. I’m looking forward to go to the park again. :)

Thought I'm okay...
I was doing okay today. But this afternoon after staring at the monitor while playing games online at my friend’s house, I got a headache again. I went home early and dropped by at the grocery store to buy some vegetables for hubby’s lunch tomorrow and Friday. I cooked for our dinner tonight and took Advil again for my headache. The good thing is I'm breathing okay today. :)

I need some fresh air

How I wish that the lady in the picture is me, surrounded by water, plants and trees. I'm sure this kind of environment would give positive results to anybody who's kinda stressed and tired. That's what I feel today. I thought I was okay when hubby went to work but this afternoon I was catching on my breath. I felt weak and got a headache again so I decided to go out and get the mails in the mailbox. While I was outside, I was trying to have a deep breath so I can inhale some fresh air. I felt a little bit better while I was outside the house for just a few minutes then I went back to the house right away. I felt tired already after climbing the stairs so I decided to take advil and lay down in the couch hoping that the headache will soon be gone and wishing that I'll be breathing normally. It took a few minutes before my breath goes back to normal and my headache becomes a little less. Now I'm worried again about the cancer thing that maybe these are just one of the symptoms. I felt sad and weak while hubby was at work and when hubby called me on the phone that he's coming home, I felt weak again and almost catching on my breath. I can see in hubby's eyes how worried he was when he arrived after hearing my voice that doesn't sound normal to him every time he calls. :)

Worried of Losing Hair?
I am not really that worried of losing my hair in the past but after the Doctor told me yesterday that he’s going to check my hormone if I have a cancer, one thing that came into my mind is I’ll be losing my hair if ever I have a cancer. We all know that once a person have a cancer and undergo a chemo-therapy, one thing that will be affected is the hair. But that’s not only the case of why people losing their hair. I normally have a falling hair everyday and everywhere in the house since I was a kid and according to our teacher, we loss some hair everyday with a certain number but it will be replaced with a new one. The problem is it doesn’t happen to all people that their hair grows with a new one. I noticed some men who are bald and I don’t know if they are worried about it because they don’t look worried to me. I watched Oprah today with Dr. Oz on the stage talking about men’s health problems that they are ashamed to ask with their Doctor and somebody asked about baldness. Now I know that men are worried of getting bald and some get crazy and do anything just to have their hair back. I noticed that this is not a big issue for women because most of the women I met were not bald. Though there are some women where you can see a little bit of their scalp but they still have some hair. In this case, hair transplant is the best option because it’s permanent, so you don’t need to worry after it is done. There’s a Doctor named Dr. Lawrence Shapiro who’s been doing Hair Transplant Surgery for 17 years. Dr. Shapiro's Hair Institute can be found in Delray Beach / Hollywood, Florida. They have a website http://www.drshapiroshairinstitute.com/index.php for you to check if you are interested. In this website, you can hear audio testimonials or watch a video of his clients talking about their experiences and more. You can also read the procedure, see the exact locations and most of all the questions and answers about hair transplant.

A Not So Good Day for Me and Hubby…
I wasn’t able to sleep well last night because of my Urinary Tract Infection (in short UTI). Hubby told me to see a Doctor first thing in the morning before it gets worst. So I called work to let them know that I can’t go to work today. Hubby instructed me to go to the Walk in Clinic and told me that I'll wait 3 hours there coz he experienced going there before. While hubby is getting ready to go to work, he asked me if I want him to go with me in going to the Doctor which I agree right away. Hehe He calls work that he’ll only work half a day today.
We arrived at 10:00 AM at the clinic; we read some magazines and watch the food network TV show which I like. After a few minutes, my name was called to fill out some forms, pay the co-pay for the health insurance, they looked at my driver license and health insurance card then I waited again. An hour later, my name was called again and this time I went to an Examination Room. An Assistant interviewed me of what they can do for me and I answered that I have UTI. She asked me questions about my health and medicines if I am taking any. She left the room and I waited for the Doctor. The Doctor asked me questions too, then asked me if I submitted urine already for him to test. Before the Doctor left, I asked him about my problem in losing weight coz I am now underweight. I told him that I don’t know if the pill that I took for my hormone has something to do with it which he only answered that he’ll check it later. I am not on a diet but still I am losing weight which scares me that I might become skin and bones someday. I hope not.
I submitted urine for the test and another assistant took some blood out of me at my right arm for another test. The Assistant asked me if I’m in my period and I said “No.” She left the room and a couple of minutes, the Doctor came in and told me that I do have a UTI and it goes in my bloodstream. He also told me that he will check my hormone if I have a cancer or something which really shocked me. He instructed me not to drink any caffeine while I have the UTI.
While hubby and I were on our way to the Pharmacy to get my prescription, I noticed that the implant was kinda loose. I can feel it when I touch it with my tongue as if it’s a loose tooth that’s about to come out. Hubby reminded me not to play too much with it or it will really come out. I did try to push the titanium back to the gum and when we had our lunch, I can feel that the titanium planted in my gum is about to fall. I stopped eating and try to push it back to the gum but it didn’t help. The implant fell out while I was chewing my food. Good thing that I didn't chew it. I am happy that hubby didn’t go to work yet and decided to eat lunch with me. Hubby called my Dentist for an appointment this afternoon and decided not to go to work .
After the incidents that happened today, hubby and I still manage to laugh and smile. According to hubby, problems come in three’s and after that all is well. I counted the incident today if it’s three already, and I think it’s only two so there’s one more coming. First the UTI, second the implant, third I might have a cancer. But hubby sees it in a different way. He said that it’s already three because first the UTI, second the Cancer word that scares me and third is the implant. Well, we just hope that everything will be fine. I just wish the result is not that bad.

Trying to sleep early...
Another news that I saw tonight about how sleep deprivation affects physical and mental abilities which scares me. hehe So again, I want to sleep 7 to 8 hours of sleep if possible. Though I don't really know if I can do it day after day but I will try to do it which might affect my blog hopping after dinner. Hmm I hope I can still blog hop and get enough sleep. I just keep my fingers cross. :)

Philippine Mango?
There was a time when hubby and I went to a Vietnamese Restaurant and the sister of the owner who also help in cooking (I guess coz she goes in and out in the kitchen) had her sort of lunch also and she was eating this kind of mango. When I saw her eating it, I told hubby to ask her where she bought it. hehe But hubby want me to ask the lady myself which I didn't do coz I'm ashamed to ask. Toink! When we left the restaurant, I keep on thinking where to get the mango so I told hubby to go to any Asian stores coz they might have it. At last, I found this mango at the Asian Market where I bought the crabs also and it's not really from the Philippines. These mangoes has a sticker on the skin and it's from Mexico but they call these "Frutas Finas" which I thought that maybe the seeds really came from the Philippines and they grow it in Mexico. Oh well, I don't really know why they call these mangoes frutas finas but I'm happy that I can now eat them even if I'm far away from Pinas.

Online Casino
Online casino is one of the popular gambling website today. Not long ago, a friend of mine and I were talking about this online casino thing for fun. That’s the reason why we work so we can do what we want in life. It’s not right to just work and work and no play because we also need to take a break and enjoy the fruits of our labor. This online casino sounds interesting to me because you can play gambling even when you’re at home. It's easy and convenient. If you want to have fun then this is the place for you. There are a lot of games that you can choose from in this website and even if you’re not familiar with it or have no idea on how it works, there’s a beginners guide to online gambling to make it easier for you. I like the Bingo game because it’s easy.

Fresh Blue Crab!
I went to the Asian Market again yesterday coz it's my day off and every Thursday, the Asian Market has fresh vegetables. I've been waiting for the live blue crabs for months and good thing that there were crabs yesterday. hehe I normally play with the crabs first while I submerged them in the water so they are already clean when I cook them. Here are the photos that I took yesterday.
Look at one of the crabs who tries to grab my tong.
After a few minutes, this is what I saw when I came back to the kitchen.

Women in Red Savers
I don't know if you are familiar with this group but I'm one of the member here. A couple of months ago I was reading articles about saving money, being frugal, live below your means to become successful and etc. I was inspired by one author talking about frugality and getting ahead by not competing with the Joneses. At one point in my life I was addicted to shop which I know is not right anymore and that I need to stop it. So I seek help by reading articles thru the internet about saving so I get motivated to really stop to shop when I don't need to and save for the future. I also watch Oprah's show about rugs to riches and riches to rugs and other shows that really helped me think twice before I buy something when I'm in the store. I told hubby to stop me when I'm out of control again buying stuff that I don't really need or use. In this case, hubby is my stopper and an angel to help me think before I buy. hehe One article mentioned about the Women in Red Savers so I visit the website and read what others were talking about. I was impressed on how the members motivate and help other members to really save. They have plans on how much they want to save for the year, what projects they want to spend their money to and etc. It's really amazing how this group support each other and give advice to those who are confused on how to get started. According to one member there that it's really hard to stop not to spend once you're used to it but they are still there when you need them. Applause, applause, applause when you save something even if it's just a little bit which made it more fun and advice when you go back to spending for non-sense again. hehe I'm not active there coz now I'm addicted to blogging but I visit there every now and then to stay motivated. haha

Mais!
Last week I went to one of the grocery stores here where I like to buy my low sodium ham and low fat liverwurst (worst than liver haha) for my sandwich. I checked their vegetables as I always do and guess what, the sweet corn is on sale! It is 10 for $2.00 so I bought 10 and came back the other day to buy some more. Why? Because it's sweet, fresh, good for me and hubby, and of course yummy! Now I don't know if hubby and I can eat them before they goes bad which I don't want to happen coz it's really yummy. So what I did is that the corn is part of our dinner everyday. haha I steam one for me after work when I go hungry then steam two again for hubby and me after dinner as our dessert. I use 3 corn ears for my "corn and gound beef soup" and the other day I made a dessert which is corn with butter, maple syrup and milk. The result was awesome! Hubby brought the left over for his lunch and he keeps on saying that it was great. hehe Tonight I have to make it again and plan to use 3 corn ears. I wish to get some more this week. I just love to eat the corn on the cob even when I was in the Philippines. I love the sweet corn in Ayala Cebu. So juicy and delicious. :)
Here's a picture of the fresh corn, fresh from the grocery store. :)

Domain Registration
I’ve been blogging for 3 months now and I’m thinking of making another blog but I want it to be different. I am still thinking of a unique name that I can make because I want it to be in my own domain name someday. Making your own domain is easy as 1 2 3 and if you’re not familiar with the internet world and needs help on how to do it then just go to http://www.paylessdomains.com.au. This is Australia's favorite domain registration site for buying cheap domain names. They offer lots of things like customer support 24/7 that can help you round the clock, free Email Hosting, free URL Forwarding, free Management Tools, free Domain Name Parking, free Member Account, free Renewal Reminders, Fast Domain Approval and much more. What I like about this is that it’s very affordable. This is a good start for someone like me who wants to have their own domain name.

A Beautiful Day...
This morning when I went to the kitchen to get some food before going to work, I heard the birds again. I think some of them were just outside our kitchen which almost tempt me to open the kitchen door and see if they are there outside on the railing. Half of me doesn't want to disturb them coz I enjoyed listening to their cute voices as if they are talking to each other. I also heard a bird that sort of whistling. When I was at the parking lot, I looked where the sounds of the birds were. I saw some birds on the trees and some on the wire. I always make fun of them when I'm with hubby. I am making stories of what those birds were talking about and ask hubby of what he think about them too which he always say that he doesn't have any idea what those birds are thinking. So my guess is maybe they are talking about us... the human beings or maybe they wonder how fast the cars run. hehe I was thinking also that maybe birds are like humans that they have some attitude too. Like when hubby and I were having dinner in one of the restaurants in Florida together with my mother-in-law, our car has poops on the window and the windshield. So I was thinking that maybe those birds who poops our car were having fun and chose our car because they just want to. haha I wonder if birds are curious and wants to see what's inside the houses or buildings. I don't really know what they think but I'm just guessing. haha
Here's a picture outside our apartment window just a few minutes ago. :)

Busy Sunday...
I really didn't have much time doing something outside. Though the weather was good this afternoon and I wanted to go back to the park again and hubby was thinking to watch a movie today, we end up stuck in the house. After church we went to an Italian Restaurant, a place where hubby and I haven't been to but then the door was closed and no cars outside. We then decided to go to another Italian Restaurant across the Street. We waited for an hour before the food was served. It almost gets on my nerves to wait for that long but the waiter apologize for the long wait coz according to him they opened the restaurant 2 weeks ago and they don't know yet how to handle everything. I felt better after what he said and besides, the food that hubby and I ordered were both yummy. :) As usual, I went home with a box for my left over. haha
After our lunch, we went home and I started to think of re-arranging the stuff in the kitchen so I can have more space. hehe I arranged the spices and herbs, hide some stuff in the drawers and cabinets, transferring kitchen utensils into their new place and hubby helped me in hiding the stuff that I don't need in the kitchen or those that I don't use. I then clean the oven, countertop, stove top and hubby again helped me in cleaning the stuff that needs more work. I cooked for dinner, wash the dishes and the pots and pans that I used, clean the kitchen sink, the countertop and the stove top again. I love the new look of the kitchen now. I have more space for making a mess when it's cooking time. haha

Experimenting Binignit
Who would have thought that I can make this myself? I am again experimenting to cook Filipino dessert that we call in the Philippines Binignit (in bisaya). I think I had the tapioca pearl for a year already. hehe There are times when I thought of cooking it but I don't know if it's too complicated or not so I didn't cook it until this week I was craving for it so I tried to cook it and here’s the result.
For me it's yummy. :) I gave some to my Pinoy co-workers and some of my white co-workers tried it too. One said that it taste like baby food. haha

Eight Facts You Don't Know About Me!
I want to thank Lena, Juliana and Butchay for tagging me this. Another thing to get to know more about me. :)
In the 8 facts about yourself, you share 8 things that your readers don't know about you. Then at the end you tag at least 8 other bloggers to keep the fun going. Here are the rules.
* Each blogger must post these rules first.
* Each blogger starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
* Bloggers that are tagged need to write on their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
* At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
* Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog.
1. I learned how to cook when I was in Elementary Grade.
2. My mom said that I am like a turtle when I do something coz I am so slow. But here in USA, I'm doing the opposite thing. hehe
3. I was a Dance Troupe member when I was in High School and awarded as a "Dancer of the Year" twice. :)
4. I am health conscious but pick the veggies that I like. hehe I don't really like all the veggies. :)
5. When I was a kid, I compete with boys too with the kiddie games and beat some of them.
6. I punch my classmate (a boy) when I was in Grade 3 and he cried. haha
7. I love to eat balut! It's a duck's egg with a little chick inside. haha The juice is very yummy especially the yellow part. So so delicious with the hot and spicy vinegar. :)
8. I graduated in Cebu Doctors' College (now University) with a course of BS Biology.
Now I want to tag Princess, Darlene, Ivy, Lutchi, Chalyza, Janet-Florida, Jana and Hazel. :) Wish you have fun doing on this one. hehe

Who is your idol?
My friend Pinaymama tagged me this. Thank you Joy for sharing this meme with me.
1. Who is/are your idol/s? – My Aunt in Cebu and Grandpa (father side)
2. What characteristic/s does/do your idol/s possess/es that draws you to him/her/them? – Responsible parents, they save for their future and the future of their kids and grandchildren, strict but in the right way, simple living even if they can afford to get more expensive stuff, down to earth, and values education.
3. What have you learned from him/her/them? – A lot. hehe But what I learned from my Aunt is to be patient, being simple (she rarely wear make up even if she can afford to buy it). hehe For my Grandpa and Aunt, saving for the rainy season, live for today but also think for the future, education is a wealth that other people can't steal from you, not buying stuff when you don't need it or if you can live without it then don't bother to buy a new one. Actually, it's more on saving money.
4. Have you applied anything you’ve learned from your idol/s? – Yes, most of the time.
5. What have you taught others based on what you’ve learned from your idol/s? – Live below their means and to not expect that everybody will help you when you need them especially when it involves money. I had an experience with that and I learned my lesson. But I am so thankful that it happened to me.
6. What are the things that you don’t like about your idol/s? – They are both diabetic but don't listen to the Doctor of what not to eat. hehe They are also both stingy. :)
7. Have you done something to correct them? – No, I'm afraid of them. hehe Besides, I think they are happy of what they're doing. :)
I want to pass this meme to Mica, Laradee, Princess, Ellaine, Twerlyn, and Jenlex.

Pictures at the Park today
It was nice outside today so after church I told hubby to go to the park coz I miss the big mouth fish there already. hehe We went there unprepared coz I talked to my cousin in Virginia for an hour and 24 mins. It seems like the conversation with me and my cousin is unstoppable (haha) but I decided to still go to the park coz I don't want to miss the very nice weather today. Hubby and I had a long walk and a long talk also about the conversation with my cousin while we were walking then we took a rest when hubby found a clean bench. He's afraid to sit any of the birds droppings or a duck or goose. hehe A couple, together with their kids passed by and saw hubby taking a picture of me so the wife asked if we want to have a picture together which hubby agree right away and said "sure!". :) Here's the picture of me and hubby that the kind lady took. These fishes were so funny especially the big ones coz they love to eat bread. The big one had a big mouth also when you toss the bread to the water. I really had fun watching them. Too bad, hubby and I didn't have anything for them today but there are families there who brought loaves of bread for the fish. I keep teasing hubby to go there fishing coz the big fish looks good for grilling. haha Hubby said "Noooooo" coz according to him "they are pets and only for looking not for cooking". bwahahaha He also said that the fish doesn't taste good but I insist that it taste good because it's fat. haha

Pro360
I love to play games using the computer like the bejeweled, bookworm and others but not really an online gambling because I'm not very good at that. Besides, I don't know how to play the gambler style. But I know somebody who plays online gambling particularly the online casino which is very much available in your home. That's what some of my friends do or their husbands do. I have a friend who said that her husband loves to play online casino and a neighbor in the Philippines also said that she and her husband plays online too. At first I didn't know that this is real but after hearing stories from my friends, I can say that this online casino is much better than going to Las Vegas or Mississippi to play at the casino. Aside from that, online casino is more convenient and much cheaper because you don't need to travel, eat in an expensive restaurants or stay in a hotel. All you need is a computer. Go to http://www.pro360.com/ then read the instruction on how to get started and you're all set. That's how easy it is now to play online casino. If you are skeptical about this just like me when I first heard about it, then check it yourself thru online casino reviews. Have fun playing and I wish you luck!
