Philippine American Association Inaugural Ball 2008

Last night's event was okay. It's the 21st Inaugural Ball of the Philippine American Association of Alabama Inc. I didn't regret going there because I enjoyed the food. haha There are black and white guests from different races who were invited to attend the event. The President of the Hispanic group was there with her son and the President of the Indian Group was also there with his wife. The guest speaker arrived at the airport late because of the storm but he was able to give a speech which I enjoyed listening. Hubby and I left early because some of my friends didn't attend. Anyways, here are the photos from last night's event. Enjoy! :)

Presentation of Colors: Cadets brought the three flags which are the USA Flag, Philippine Flag and the Alabama Flag. Followed by singing the Star Spangled Banner then the Lupang Hinirang.

A dance number from Fil-Am teenagers and kids dancing the Magkaugnay. A native dance from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. They did a good job and I enjoyed watching it.

The boys were dancing the Maglalatik dance. I had fun watching them knowing that they grow up here but they dance in front of everybody with no shirt on.

This dance reminded me of the olden days while watching these kids dancing the tinikling dance.

And this is the guest speaker who's also a Filipino born and raised in Chicago named Rudy Pamintuan. Recently completing 3 yrs of service as an appointee of Pres. George W. Bush served as Chairman of the President's Advisory Commission on Asian American and Pacific Islanders. Recently he was appointed by the United Nations General Assembly President to serve as an economic develop advisor.

The crowd.

A pose with my Pinay friends.

Hubby and me. :)

And dancing chacha with friends. ^_^

Anyways, bisan ug nakatuntong nako ug usa ka ang2 sa hagdanan, taas jud gihapon si hubby. haha The picture really shows how cute I am. nyahaha

twerlyn: lagi, akong tiyan gamay gihapon tan-awn nya wa gihapon ko nag gain ug weight. gamatoy tali ni akong baby kay di man ko mahilig ug kaon. ingon man sad akong OB nga ok ra daw kung di ko mag gain ug weight as long as the baby is still growing. :)

Nice pics Michelle! The ones I've taken were not really that clear.. Haven't quite figure out yet on how to use my camera's functions specially with the night scenes/backgrounds.. But I'll post them anyway soon...
