Me at 28 weeks

Yesterday afternoon I went to the fitness center for my exercise. I really like going there coz I felt energized after I had my exercise. I even told my Aunt about going to the fitness and she told me not to overdo it. She said that walking exercise is okay. My plan is to be in the treadmill for 30 minutes 3 - 5 times a week. But if I do some chores in the house or go out shopping then I don't go to the fitness center coz I'll be exhausted doing too much exercise in one day. If I feel weak, I just stay at home and do nothing but relax and rest. Now that's my life as preggy. :)

Sweet dreams bed

Hubby and I were looking for a nice bed we can find around that is also affordable. We were looking for a bed with storage underneath it but it seems that the stores around here don’t carry it except for kid’s bed so we search the internet for some options. Buying a nice bed means having a good sleep too coz if you don’t like the bed you got, then you’re not happy to sleep on it. Hubby told me that we should purchase something that we really like coz we are going to live with it forever and not just one week. As of the moment, we’re sleeping with the mattress on the floor until we find the right storage bed for us. There’s a website I found today that has a wide selection of beds like wooden, metal, luxury, high sleepers, bunk, cabin, french style, antique style, girls, boys, children, divan, guest, white, upholstered beds and they have more than one storage beds available too. I checked the website and found a good storage bed that hubby might consider looking. We want something that is more useful, practical and nice. Of course we don’t want to buy something that is just an eye sore to us, right? So it really does matter to me of what a bed looks like coz the kind of bed you have shows your personality also. I’ve been browsing the beds for kids and there are pretty ones that I like. I guess I’m too excited to shop in advance now that the baby is still in my tummy. Oh well, I’ll keep it in mind so when it’s time to get one I know where to find it.

My best leftover turkey curry stoup

It's been a while that I've been experimenting about what to do with turkey leftovers. I tried making fried rice with it, soup, or just heating it again in the microwave for the next day's meal. But last Christmas we had a tough turkey. It didn't come out the way we expected. Hubby and I bought a different brand of turkey for Christmas just for the fun of it. We followed the instructions which is different from other brand that we normally buy and then I decided not to baste it to see if it's still turn out good. Well, the result was we got a tough, dry turkey and the skin is not crunchy. It looks good on the outside though but hubby and I were not happy about it. We almost don't want to eat it. (Sigh) When I asked hubby of what he want me to do with the leftover for the next day, he told me to give it to the cat (our neighbor's cat who sometimes visit the neighbors like us). That's how bad our turkey was last Christmas.

After 3 days of thinking what to do with it, I come up with an idea. Hubby suggested that maybe I can make a soup with the turkey and boil it for hours to make it tender. I was planning to make a chicken curry for months but didn't so I thought maybe I can make a turkey curry. A friend of mine who had a small restaurant in Cebu gave me the recipe of her chicken curry so I thought maybe I can use it for the turkey. I cooked the leftover turkey but I did some adjustments. The result was great! Hubby said it's the best turkey soup he ever had! At first he said it works really well with the turkey, and while eating he said it was great... and last he said it was excellent! haha I'm glad he liked it. Now he said that we can have this turkey curry stoup even if there's no holiday. Btw, I call this recipe a stoup because you can make this as stew or soup. It's really good that hubby and I aren't tired of eating it for 3 consecutive dinners already. Yummy! yummy!

Dream Home

My cousin and her husband are looking for a place where they can settle down once her husband retires. I think all of us are thinking that way ahead of time so when the time comes, we already know where to go and what to do. So far they’ve been changing locations of the possibilities where they want to settle down and one place that they consider is Texas, a place where everything is big. Looking for a dream home is not that easy considering of what you want and your partner wants in a house or home. I found a helpful website that they can look about the place there the Austin Real Estate. Real Estate people know better and can help those who need their help. If you are thinking of moving or planning to settle down in Texas then check their website Homecity.com, the industry’s most innovative full service Dallas real estate broker and to have a full understanding of the offers available. Their website has a quick search if you want to just look what’s on the market. So even if you’re not planning to settle down there yet, you can still see the homes on sale and who knows, maybe your family or friends are thinking of moving there then you can tell them about Austin Real Estate.

New Year's Blog Award

Thank you Lynn for this tag. Same here, I normally don't have a New Year's Resolution. I'd rather do the best I can and if something doesn't work then better luck next time. hehe Anyways, I don't want to spoil the fun so I'll think of something for this tag. haha

My 5 New Year's Resolution

1) I easily get tempted when I shop and buy something that is not on the list which is not good at all. So this year I'll try not to be tempted with the items on sale.
2) A happy mom is a good mom so I think even if I'll soon be a mom, I should take care of myself too.
3) Having a baby means having a messy house too (that's what most moms said). My plan is to have a clean and arrange environment for my baby, hubby and me.
4) I am hoping that my good eating habit will continue and not go back to my bad eating habit before I was pregnant.
5) I am a good listener to those who have problems which I take seriously as if I'm the one having the probs too and end up not sleeping the night I heard the stories. I want to change that attitude so I can stay focus and give good advice that will help those who need it.

Rules:
You must be a true lover of the New Year to receive this award. The person to whom you give the award must also be in love with the New Year.

Post at least five New Year’s Resolutions. If you can’t limit it to five, then continue until you go out of space.

Pass the award along to as many bloggers as you like.

Let your recipients know that you have tagged them by leaving a comment on their site. Also, link back the person who gave you the award.

I'm tagging YOU if you want to join the fun! :)

Buyers remorse

After shopping for the sale items after christmas, I experienced having a buyer's remorse. I realized that I bought stuff that I am not going to use for this year 2009 which only take up more space here. I told hubby that I regret buying some of the stuff that I bought on sale and hubby told me that it took him a decade before he learned that he should buy the stuff that is worth the space of his place. Now I learn something and hoping that I won't do it again. We all know that shopping is a woman's weakness but after I know how much I spent, I started to regret spending. Well, I think next time I should not look what's on sale. hahaha

New Year celebration with hubby

Here's what I said in my previous post that hubby and I will still celebrate the New Year together the next day. This was yesterday's celebration for the New Year. Though it's the 2nd of January already but it seems like the 1st of January. :)

We had steak, asparagus with garlic salt and topped with parmesan cheese, smoked sausage with light bbq sauce, carrots with maple syrup, american and asian sweet potato, goldilocks fruitcake (from a friend) and sparkling beverage.

Us. :)

Leche flan for dessert.

Celebrating New Year with Bisdak Friends

I received a call yesterday morning from a friend that I was invited for a little party. I was getting ready to go to church when the house phone rang and the voice leaving a message sounds familiar to me but I need to get out of the house coz hubby was waiting for me outside. When I arrived home I listen to the voicemail message right away and called my friend about it. I told my friend that I'll go and after our conversation I told hubby about it. I just remember that I supposed to cook steak for our New Year celebration but hubby said that it's okay. I felt guilty thinking that I'm not going to spend dinner with hubby so I told him that I'll still cook the steak for him and veggies that he like but he told me to just relax and not worry about him coz he'll figure out something later if he's hungry. So here are the photos of how I spent my New Year with friends.

Because we're all bisaya, a friend of mine cooked this "otan bisaya". Yummy!

Pork adobo.

Not sure what this is but I think it's caldereta.

Cassava cake.

Baked salmon with lemon and atchara on the side.

Baked lechon. :)

Pancit bihon.

Shakoy.

Me and my bisaya friends.

Cheers for the year 2009!

I arrived home I think 10:20 pm and the first thing hubby asked me was "Did you have fun?" hehe Of course my answer is "yes!" or else I went home early if I didn't enjoy there. Then hubby said "Good!" I told hubby that we're still going to celebrate the New Year together and that's today. It's late but better late than never. ^_^
