Wishy wish wish

I have some wishes in mind but I'm not too serious about it. Thanks to my blogging buddies Lynn and Ilocana for sharing me this Wishy wish tag. Though my birthday is far from now, I'll try to write down my wish and see what will happen. Hope my wish will all come true. :)

The rules are...

1. Make a list of what you want on your birthday...
2. The list should be 15 numbers.
3. Post the image of this tag/award in your posting.
4. Give it to 10 friends of yours.

Here's the tag logo:

Here are my birthday wishes:

1) Good health for me, hubby and our baby.

2) A house.

3) Trip to Philippines, Hawaii or California (just to eat Filipino foods). haha

4) World Peace.

That's all I can think of right now. hehe I'm tagging Amiable Amy, Elda, Laradee and those who are listed in my blog links.

Another lovely day...

Yesterday was my OB appointment again at 11: 10 am and finished at 12:30 pm. I'm now scheduled to go to the OB every 2 weeks so I told hubby that I'll go by myself and save his time when I really need him. I arrived 3 mins. late but there are more patients ahead of me waiting for their number to be called. I can say that I'm lucky yesterday coz the weather is nice and I didn't wait for so long at the waiting area unlike when hubby's with me coz we finish til lunch time even if my appointment is 9 or 10 am. The practitioner asked where hubby was coz it's the first time that hubby didn't go with me. She measured my stomach and we listen to the baby's heartbeat then she said that the baby is growing (which is good). I went to the mall after I had my next schedule for the next visit, went to Victoria's secret to get my free stuff and shop for maternity clothes but didn't get any coz the style on display are not my type. I had a snack before going home and was surprised that I finished the sandwich that I ordered and the tea. It took me an hour to finish everything but I enjoyed watching other shoppers come and go while eating. I went home at 3:00 pm then took a photo of me as remembrance when I'm 31 weeks and 1 day preggy.

Pink Heart Tag: Listen To What My Heart Says

A touching tag from a dear blogging buddy Lynn. I really appreciate the thought sis. Thanks a lot! ^_^

Please spend time to scroll down and take time to read every line, and ask God what does He want to tell you.

The 10 Commandments are not a multiple choice.

Your mind is like a parachute...it functions only when open..

One thing you can give and still keep...is your word.
You lie the loudest when you lie to yourself you lack the courage to start, you have already finished. One thing you can't recycle is wasted time. Ideas won't work unless ' You' do.
The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts.

The heaviest thing you can carry is a grudge.

Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.'A sharp tongue can cut your own throat.
If you want your dreams to come true, you mustn't oversleep.

Of all the things you wear, your expression is the most importan.

The best vitamin for making friends..... B1.

The pursuit of happiness is the chase of a lifetime! It is never too late to become what you might have been.

Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Forget about the one's who don't. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If if changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

Friends are like balloons, once you let them go, you might not get them back. Sometimes we get so busy with our own lives and problems, that we may not even notice that we've let them fly away. Sometimes we are so caught up in who's right and who's wrong that we for get what's right or wrong. Sometimes we just don't realize what real friendship means until it is too late. I don't want to let that happen so I'm gonna tie you to my heart so I never lose you.

This tag is so nice - it's very touching. So now I want to share this to all my friends listed in my blog links and even those who are just visiting. Hope you like it! :)

Sweet...

I was feeling weak lately again and today while eating dinner with hubby I felt tired and weak though I just had a nap and a good sleep last night. Hubby remembered of what my OB said that the baby is taking my energy so hubby thinks maybe that's the reason why I'm feeling weak. Then he told me that gaining weight is not my problem and said that maybe the coconut cake is what I need. hahaha I'm trying to avoid sweets even if I don't have a problem with gestational diabetes (which pregnant moms get) because my father side are diabetics plus my baby can now taste what I eat and I don't want her to start liking the sweets when she's still little. Anyway, hubby asked me if I want him to buy the coconut cake coz if I do then he'll buy one before working on our baby's room. It took me time to think but decided to have the coconut cake. A few minutes after eating a slice of the cake my baby starts playing. hehe Hubby said that I might not be able to sleep tonight coz I fed the baby with carbs and sugar. Oh my! I make a deal with my baby that she can play when it's not my bed time yet but when it's time for me to sleep then she should also sleep or else no more coconut cake for her tomorrow. Hubby was laughing at me when I said that but who knows, maybe my baby will listen to me. :)

Coconut cake for me and my baby... a little bit for hubby. ^_^

Dreaming of water...

I have no idea why I've been dreaming about water lately. I dreamed 3 times about water... deep sea, river and the shallow beach which suddenly becomes deep. One thing I can say about these dreams is the feeling of fear that I might drown. I'm eager to know what these dreams meant if there are any meanings to it so I took my dictionary of dreams and read about words that links to water. There's one familiar word that I noticed and it's about emotions. The fear of being drown means that I fear of not being in control of the future. It's true. I fear of what will happen when it's time for me to deliver the baby. I don't know yet if I have to drive to the hospital myself when my bag of water breaks (if hubby's at work and I can't wait), of when the baby's room be ready coz until now it's a mess. That explains my dreams about water. But what about the meaning of my dream that somebody steal my baby? Is there anybody here who knows what that means? If so, you're very much welcome to leave a comment here...

Our Little Angel's Theme

I wasn't really thinking of what our little one's theme would be. I thought it's not that important. My plan was to buy what's needed and that's it. What I need to buy is the bumper for the crib and a fitted sheet but I found the Oceana crib set (6 in 1) on sale and I remember how expensive a crib set is at the baby store so I bought it before it's gone. When hubby and I were at the baby store to buy the stroller, playpen and carseat, I checked on the Oceana theme and guess what? The accessories are on sale 75% off. So I told hubby to buy some of the accessories to make our little one's theme somewhat complete. The pictures below are the accessories called "Sea Life".

Ten more weeks to go and my due date is over. Hubby and I already have a schedule for the parenting class and prepared childbirth class. I hope we'll learn a lot of things on these classes that we can use when the time comes. The photos below was taken yesterday when I was 30 weeks. :)

Preparing for the baby

I'm now 30 weeks pregnant so 10 more weeks to go for my due date and the baby will be with us if she comes out on that day. That also means we only have 10 more weeks to prepare for the baby's arrival. Wow, time flies really fast and the baby's room is not ready yet! Hubby and I are still trying to transform the office/storage room into a baby room. Yesterday we were able to accomplish buying items for the baby, just the important once and some accessories for her room. I get tempted to buy little things for the baby while roaming around the store but I also tried to control myself because my friends told me to wait for the baby shower or else somebody will give me something that I already have/bought.

Maybe I'm too excited and getting paranoid thinking if the baby wants to come out early so I still bought something that I know I'll need once the baby arrives. Hubby is planning to enroll classes about parenting and prepared childbirth for both of us and breastfeeding for me. I drop the breastfeeding class coz I've seen my cousins doing it before so I think I don't need it. I'll just figure it out when time comes. (wink)

Yesterday I was able to take a nap at the couch coz my little athlete is I think addicted into stretching her body and playing with her feet and hands and maybe fingers too. I can feel sometimes as if she's drawing a line in my tummy with her finger that feels like a stick. Her moves keep me awake and sometimes wake me up in the middle of the night. I might not have enough time to spend in front of the computer but I'll try to drop ec to those who drop ec here. Thanks again for visiting! :)

The fourth edition tag ... (google it)

I've been tagged by my two blogger friends Lynn and Nancy for this interesting fourth edition tag. Thanks lovely ladies for sharing this tag with me. :)

The rules: Answer the following questions through Google pictures and you may add some text if needed.

Here are my answers:

4 favorite things/foods to munch on:
I love this sweet rolls with skippy peanut butter as my snack when I feel hungry at dawn, morning or afternoon, sometimes I eat this again before bed time. :)

If I eat enough sweet rolls already in a day then I eat this skyflakes crackers as my snack.

Love this singkamas or jicama root. I like to nibble this one especially when it's cold coz it's juicy and this is good for me.

I like to eat this kind of seedless grapes but I limit eating on this one coz it gives me acid reflux.

4 favorite places to go. Why?

I want to visit this place someday coz this is the place that feels like you're in the Philippines. Besides, I have a cousin there who'd be happy to see me if I visit them.

A friend of mine said that there's a lot of Filipinos in this place and they even have a small mall where the stores inside are branches of Philippine stores. :)

I've been in this place last 2007 and I want to visit this place again coz I haven't seen everything yet of what this place has to offer. Besides, I have relatives there and an Uncle who cooks a very tasty Cebu style lechon and I want to eat that again. haha

I've seen this place on TV and the place looks really amazing. I also have a best friend in College who works there in "Dubai" which I'm sure will be glad to see me. :)

4 favorite shops online:

Babies R Us

New York & Company Victoria's Secret

Target

4 things that pop up when you Google my name:

I'll post 2 for each ladies who tagged me.

For Lynn:

Jamie Lynn Sigler

Jamie Lynn Spears

For Nancy:

Nancy Miracle

Home made meringue

Last year December before Christmas I was thinking of making a new dessert. I was looking for meringue recipe but wanted the simple one coz the meringue sold in the store here are sugar free which I think doesn't taste good. Good thing I found a video of how to make the meringue at the food network website. The photos below are the result of what I made before Christmas. I already made meringue twice before and after Christmas and now I want to make another batch again. The good thing about homemade meringue is you can adjust the sweetness according to your taste. Like the first one I made is too sweet for me so the second time around I put less sugar and it taste just right.

Ok, this is all for now coz I need to do something else and later will be our ladies night which will soon be mommy's night out. Thanks for dropping by here and may all of you have/had a good day. :)

Sleepy

I was thinking of doing more chores today but I end up doing just a little. But I think it's okay at least I was able to accomplish something than nothing, right? Now I feel sleepy after dinner. I was planning to do ec dropping but my eyes are tired that I need to force to open them. I hope tomorrow I can do more chores and drop more EC. Okay, night night to all and hope to see you again here. :)

My OB appointment today

Hubby and I arrived on time at the OB office. I was lucky today coz the assistant who weighed me and prepared my papers today was my friend, a bisaya Filipina also. Then one of the practitioners came to us and joined our little chit chat. Why she joined? Coz she's also a bisaya Filipina and my friend as well. haha That's one thing I like with my OB coz he's nice and has 2 Filipina workers whom I can call whenever I have a question. ^_-

Anyways, my friend gave me the orange drink for the glucose test and a small cup for the urine test. After an hour another employee drew my blood for the glucose test. The practitioner told me that if the result of the glucose test is abnormal then they will call me and I'll do the test again... which means I have to fast from 12 midnight and drink the orange drink then they're going to draw blood after an hour but this time they'll do it 3 times (once every hour). The practitioner thinks that I don't have gestational diabetes and she told me that I shouldn't worry about gaining weight after hubby told her that I felt weak yesterday in preparation for today's test. haha I had a good laugh listening to hubby and the practitioner talking about the way I eat and they both agreed about the dessert. She said that I can eat dessert in moderation but not 3 times a day, maybe once or twice is okay for me coz my weight is just right for my height. She was happy telling me and hubby that the baby is growing okay and was glad seeing my record that I gained 5 lbs in just 3 weeks which I thought is too much. We listen the baby's heartbeat and it's 153. Then I asked about wearing high heels if it's true that pregnant women shouldn't wear it coz a friend of mine told me once that my tummy is so low because of wearing heels which makes the baby descend. The practitioner said that it's not true. She said that the only reason to avoid wearing high heels is if it's pushing me forward coz I might fall. And she added that I'll be fine wearing heels like 1 - 2 inches or as long as the balance is okay. Well, I just like to wear my boots with heels in the evening when I go out coz its cold and I want to cover some part of my gastrocnemius. ^_^

I'm Cinderella tonight

I am so thankful that I had a good sleep last night. I think it was the longest sleep I had with my pregnancy and I got lots of dreams too. My baby was sleeping most of the time also and I didn't feel the urge to go to the bathroom or feel hungry in the middle of the night and even in the morning. I went to bed at 12:30 am and get up at 11 am then cooked for my brunch. Though I had enough sleep last night I was feeling weak today. I had lots of plans of what to do today but didn't do much. I don't know why but I felt sleepy again this afternoon. I told hubby about it and then he said maybe I'm feeling weak because I'm not eating snacks the way I should. I was surprised when he said that coz I didn't think about it. I just didn't feel hungry that's why I'm not eating snacks. He also said that I'm dieting in preparation for tomorrow's glucose test and that made me laugh so hard coz it's true that I'm dieting when it comes to sweets. I was even hiding the sweets I can find so I won't be tempted to eat them. I just don't want to have a gestational diabetes result for tomorrow's test but hubby told me that he thinks I don't have diabetes coz I'm not eating huge amount of sweets and I'm not even gaining enough as what my OB told me. So he told me to have a little treat tonight or else I won't be able to get up tomorrow for being too weak. I agree with him so I planned to have a slice of cake tonight before midnight but the plan was changed because we went out shopping and got carried away looking for baby stuff. The grocery store where I plan to buy the cake closes at 10 pm and it was already past 10 pm when we were at the cashier. While on our way home, we passed by at McDonald's and I told hubby that I can eat fries and milkshake instead of cooking the corn bread as my snack. I felt like Cinderella tonight coz I need to eat my snacks before 12 midnight. I was eating the fries and milkshake as if I'm beating the clock and I won. haha I noticed that my baby was happy while I was eating my snacks coz she started stretching my tummy and kicking again. I think she was also feeling weak today coz it seems like she only move slowly then sleep when I was feeling weak. Well, I hope the result tomorrow is okay so hubby and I can go home early.

Getting Stronger and Bigger

I'm talking about my baby. I received a hard kick from her last night while she was turning as if she wants to pop out in my tummy and it hurts. I'm not sure if it was her head or back pushing my tummy and forming a big lump outside but it's funny to watch my tummy with different formations when the baby moves. I can tell that she's getting stronger and bigger coz there was a time when I felt the kick on the right side of my tummy while a lump formed on the left side of my tummy at the same time. Last December 31st I had another ultrasound and her whole body won't fit in the monitor anymore unlike the first ultrasound I had. I'm glad that she's growing okay. The next big challenge is the glucose test this coming Tuesday. I hope I don't have a problem with gestational diabetes after indulging with sweets last Christmas and New Year. Though I'm trying to avoid sweets but sometimes I get tempted and sneak to eat some. Grrrrr I know shouldn't do it but I'm just like other human beings that made mistakes too. hehe Anyways, the glucose test would be the biggest challenge for me coz I need to fast at 12 midnight and my appointment will be at 8:30 am. But that depends if there are patients ahead of me so probably I'll be waiting and starving by Tuesday coz now my body likes to keep on eating every now and then. Most of the time it's my baby who'll wake me up at 3 - 4 am then early in the morning kicking me as if she's telling me to feed her. Oh well, I'll do what I have to do and after the test I'll eat like a pig. Hmm I better not eat too much or I'll be in pain afterwards. haha

First ultrasound at 18 weeks and 3 days.

Second ultrasound at 27 weeks and 2 days.

1) preheat oven to 350 deg. caramelize sugar using a small pan and pour it to a baking dish just enough to cover the bottom part then let it cool.
2) mix the liquid mixture and pour it into the baking dish.
3) put the baking dish into a tray and put it in the preheated oven.

Me at 28 weeks

Yesterday afternoon I went to the fitness center for my exercise. I really like going there coz I felt energized after I had my exercise. I even told my Aunt about going to the fitness and she told me not to overdo it. She said that walking exercise is okay. My plan is to be in the treadmill for 30 minutes 3 - 5 times a week. But if I do some chores in the house or go out shopping then I don't go to the fitness center coz I'll be exhausted doing too much exercise in one day. If I feel weak, I just stay at home and do nothing but relax and rest. Now that's my life as preggy. :)

Sweet dreams bed

Hubby and I were looking for a nice bed we can find around that is also affordable. We were looking for a bed with storage underneath it but it seems that the stores around here don’t carry it except for kid’s bed so we search the internet for some options. Buying a nice bed means having a good sleep too coz if you don’t like the bed you got, then you’re not happy to sleep on it. Hubby told me that we should purchase something that we really like coz we are going to live with it forever and not just one week. As of the moment, we’re sleeping with the mattress on the floor until we find the right storage bed for us. There’s a website I found today that has a wide selection of beds like wooden, metal, luxury, high sleepers, bunk, cabin, french style, antique style, girls, boys, children, divan, guest, white, upholstered beds and they have more than one storage beds available too. I checked the website and found a good storage bed that hubby might consider looking. We want something that is more useful, practical and nice. Of course we don’t want to buy something that is just an eye sore to us, right? So it really does matter to me of what a bed looks like coz the kind of bed you have shows your personality also. I’ve been browsing the beds for kids and there are pretty ones that I like. I guess I’m too excited to shop in advance now that the baby is still in my tummy. Oh well, I’ll keep it in mind so when it’s time to get one I know where to find it.

My best leftover turkey curry stoup

It's been a while that I've been experimenting about what to do with turkey leftovers. I tried making fried rice with it, soup, or just heating it again in the microwave for the next day's meal. But last Christmas we had a tough turkey. It didn't come out the way we expected. Hubby and I bought a different brand of turkey for Christmas just for the fun of it. We followed the instructions which is different from other brand that we normally buy and then I decided not to baste it to see if it's still turn out good. Well, the result was we got a tough, dry turkey and the skin is not crunchy. It looks good on the outside though but hubby and I were not happy about it. We almost don't want to eat it. (Sigh) When I asked hubby of what he want me to do with the leftover for the next day, he told me to give it to the cat (our neighbor's cat who sometimes visit the neighbors like us). That's how bad our turkey was last Christmas.

After 3 days of thinking what to do with it, I come up with an idea. Hubby suggested that maybe I can make a soup with the turkey and boil it for hours to make it tender. I was planning to make a chicken curry for months but didn't so I thought maybe I can make a turkey curry. A friend of mine who had a small restaurant in Cebu gave me the recipe of her chicken curry so I thought maybe I can use it for the turkey. I cooked the leftover turkey but I did some adjustments. The result was great! Hubby said it's the best turkey soup he ever had! At first he said it works really well with the turkey, and while eating he said it was great... and last he said it was excellent! haha I'm glad he liked it. Now he said that we can have this turkey curry stoup even if there's no holiday. Btw, I call this recipe a stoup because you can make this as stew or soup. It's really good that hubby and I aren't tired of eating it for 3 consecutive dinners already. Yummy! yummy!

Dream Home

My cousin and her husband are looking for a place where they can settle down once her husband retires. I think all of us are thinking that way ahead of time so when the time comes, we already know where to go and what to do. So far they’ve been changing locations of the possibilities where they want to settle down and one place that they consider is Texas, a place where everything is big. Looking for a dream home is not that easy considering of what you want and your partner wants in a house or home. I found a helpful website that they can look about the place there the Austin Real Estate. Real Estate people know better and can help those who need their help. If you are thinking of moving or planning to settle down in Texas then check their website Homecity.com, the industry’s most innovative full service Dallas real estate broker and to have a full understanding of the offers available. Their website has a quick search if you want to just look what’s on the market. So even if you’re not planning to settle down there yet, you can still see the homes on sale and who knows, maybe your family or friends are thinking of moving there then you can tell them about Austin Real Estate.

New Year's Blog Award

Thank you Lynn for this tag. Same here, I normally don't have a New Year's Resolution. I'd rather do the best I can and if something doesn't work then better luck next time. hehe Anyways, I don't want to spoil the fun so I'll think of something for this tag. haha

My 5 New Year's Resolution

1) I easily get tempted when I shop and buy something that is not on the list which is not good at all. So this year I'll try not to be tempted with the items on sale.
2) A happy mom is a good mom so I think even if I'll soon be a mom, I should take care of myself too.
3) Having a baby means having a messy house too (that's what most moms said). My plan is to have a clean and arrange environment for my baby, hubby and me.
4) I am hoping that my good eating habit will continue and not go back to my bad eating habit before I was pregnant.
5) I am a good listener to those who have problems which I take seriously as if I'm the one having the probs too and end up not sleeping the night I heard the stories. I want to change that attitude so I can stay focus and give good advice that will help those who need it.

Rules:
You must be a true lover of the New Year to receive this award. The person to whom you give the award must also be in love with the New Year.

Post at least five New Year’s Resolutions. If you can’t limit it to five, then continue until you go out of space.

Pass the award along to as many bloggers as you like.

Let your recipients know that you have tagged them by leaving a comment on their site. Also, link back the person who gave you the award.

I'm tagging YOU if you want to join the fun! :)

Buyers remorse

After shopping for the sale items after christmas, I experienced having a buyer's remorse. I realized that I bought stuff that I am not going to use for this year 2009 which only take up more space here. I told hubby that I regret buying some of the stuff that I bought on sale and hubby told me that it took him a decade before he learned that he should buy the stuff that is worth the space of his place. Now I learn something and hoping that I won't do it again. We all know that shopping is a woman's weakness but after I know how much I spent, I started to regret spending. Well, I think next time I should not look what's on sale. hahaha

New Year celebration with hubby

Here's what I said in my previous post that hubby and I will still celebrate the New Year together the next day. This was yesterday's celebration for the New Year. Though it's the 2nd of January already but it seems like the 1st of January. :)

We had steak, asparagus with garlic salt and topped with parmesan cheese, smoked sausage with light bbq sauce, carrots with maple syrup, american and asian sweet potato, goldilocks fruitcake (from a friend) and sparkling beverage.

Us. :)

Leche flan for dessert.
