I want to share this award to Jazevox, Ivy, Mabelle, Pinaymama and most especially to Darlene.

My Best Friend's Future Wedding

I received a call the other last weekend from my best friend who’s now currently working in Dubai. She said that she’s been calling me since December and left a voicemail message that she’s engaged already. Then she called me again and left another message greeting me Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and another message after a week and again last weekend. I didn’t receive all the messages that she left in my voicemail so last weekend I knew that she’s engaged. At last, my best friend for years will soon be married. I am happy for her but at the same time sad and confused. We are far from each other and she wants me to be her maid of honor. The wedding might be in Dubai or in the Philippines and both countries are far from where I am now. I don’t like to think about the distance but that’s part of the package if I am going to travel to attend her wedding. Thinking about it made me realize that I have to be in the plane for a long period of time, changing planes from one place to another and then I have to consider adjusting my body clock coz those places have a different time than mine now. Anyway, I can still remember the time when we both wish and hope that if we both get married we want to be neighbors. I don’t think it’s going to happen now coz she works in Dubai and the future husband is from Lebanon. She has a house in the Philippines but it’s in a different Island from where I’ll stay if I go back to the Philippines. I don’t know. I’m confused whether I go or not considering the distance where I’m going and without my husband.

Me and my best friend during her vacation in the Philippines last April 2005. I went to Mindanao to visit her and my sister. :)

Experimenting the Pansit

I was inspired to try cooking this pansit recipe after watching a video from another blogger's blog who posted about how to cook bihon. I added a yellow kind of noodle which I don't know if I have to soak it in the water first before cooking it coz there's no instruction in the package. Hmm Ok, I just thought that maybe it doesn't need to be soaked in the water so I just added it right away. The result is in the picture. As you can see, it looks good but it doesn't taste good... at all. Waaaaaaaaa Good thing hubby saved it for me. He can eat foods that doesn't taste good coz according to him "anything that tastes good, spit it out" coz it's not good for you. I remember Paula Deen saying that the foods she cooked looks nasty or doesn't look good but very delicious. For this particular recipe that I made, this looks good but taste nasty. hahaha Opposite of what Paula Deen said. Toink! :)

Big Bang Links Tag

I have been tagged by my friends Pinaymama and Catsy. Thank you girls for sharing this with me. This is a good way for meeting new friends here in the blogging world.

*Start Copy Here*

1. You do not have to be tagged to play along. This game is simple and so are the rules. Copy from *Start Copy Here* through *End Copy Here*

2. Add your site(s) to the list. Just be sure to post at each site you add.

3. Tag or don’t tag, your choice, however, the more tags you create the bigger the list will grow.

4. Let me know your blog’s name and URL by leaving me a comment HERE. I will add you to the master list. (If you would like the scroll box code, leave me your email address and I will email it to you.)

5. Come back and copy the master list back to your site, often. This process will allow late-comers to get as much link benefit as the first ones in.

Sorry for the Inconvenience of the Deleted Links

I want to thank my beautiful friend Darlene for taking the time to change my lay out as well as the background to make this blog look nicer. As you can see there are many changes in my blog and I want to apologize to those who are in my blog roll in the past which are not in my new blog roll now. She accidentally deleted it so I have to add the names again which will take time for me to do all of it coz adding the links is different than my previous lay out. I am not sad that the links were accidentally deleted coz I am happy with the outcome of the lay out and all. Besides, I know the people listed in my links so you shouldn’t worry about it. I’ll work on this, slowly but surely. Hope you guys understand. If your name is not in my blog roll yet after today or tomorrow, it doesn’t mean that you’re forgotten already, just give me time to fix this. It's easier for me to finish this if you can give me your link again so I don't need to search your link in other blogs which is what I'm doing now. So I can’t promise when I can finish this but I will try to do the best I can. Thanks!

Compliments Day!

A real friends must be cherished beyond all worldly measures and shine brighter than gold and last longer than diamonds. A compliments day meme from a nice friend Norm! Thanks girl for sharing me this. I would love to pass this to Butchay, Chalyza, Darlene, Ivy, Ellaine, Twerlyn, Bryan, Jk, Mabelle, Francine, Pinaymama and to those who are in my list that doesn't have this one yet.

The Cold Weather Changed My Weekly Routine

I normally go to the grocery store every other day after work to buy vegetables and other stuff I need especially during Friday coz it’s our fish day. But because of the cold weather, everything’s changed. Since Monday I stopped grocery shopping except yesterday where I had my day off. Today I again decided not to go out and buy the fish for hubby. I just called hubby and told him to buy a tuna sandwich for his dinner. Though I had fish in the freezer but that’s my fish. Know why? Because it’s a whole fish and hubby don’t bother to eat a fish with bones in it. Haha I’m not craving for a fish yet and I bought shrimps yesterday so I might cook it tonight for me. Hubby is not a shrimp eater either so I might end up eating the shrimps by myself which I like. Haha Happy Weekend!

Tired and Sleepy...

It’s my day off today and I want to relax a little bit. I started my day watching Maury Show about Ghosts and News on the other Channel when it’s already commercial break then eating my breakfast at the same time while watching. After Maury I watched Tyra Show about Plastic Surgery Nightmares and then do some blogging every commercial break after I finished eating. I visited some blogs for those who leave a message in my Cbox and say some comments in my post. I almost didn’t have time to go to the Asian Market for some grocery shopping. I hurriedly went there before hubby picked me up for my Dental Appointment. I had an hour to go to the Asian Market, pick the stuff I want to buy and drive back home. I keep on looking at the clock while I’m in line to pay for the stuff I bought hoping that I can get out of the store soon. I arrived home just in time before hubby arrived. We’re 8 minutes late when we arrived at the Dental Office. My name was called after maybe a minute of waiting. Haha Too soon huh! I had 3 teeth that needs filling so they gave me a strawberry taste cotton in 2 sticks for the upper and lower teeth. I can feel when the Dentist injected the anesthesia and it’s not only one but more than that. I just didn’t say anything coz I want it to finish soon thinking that after the fillings, I’ll go to the Filipino Store to see if they have something new that interest me. It took an hour to finish then we had a little talk about the next appointment for the implant. Waaaaaaa They want me to have the implant next week but hubby refuse coz he has an appointment with an Orthodontist. I got a Friday appointment instead of Thursday 2 weeks from now. We went to a Meat Store first and bought some meat then to the Filipino store and bought stuff that I don’t need yet but maybe someday I will. I got that kind of thinking hoping that the stuff I bought won’t expire in a year coz I might only remember them when it’s about to expire. I have that kind of thinking, don’t know where I get that but that’s me. Haha Hubby and I were a little hungry already so we decided to go to a Chinese Buffet after grocery shopping. Oh boy, the seafoods were so great! After dinner we went home. Now I’m checking my blog, kinda tired plus one of my teeth becomes sore. I hope it’s just part of the healing process and will be gone tomorrow or else I have to have an appointment tomorrow and see of what’s going on. OMG, I hope this won’t result into another root canal again. I’ll just take Advil tonight and see what will happen. I’ll keep my fingers cross on this one. Now I wanted to sleep. I suppose to cook veggies for hubby tomorrow but I’m too tired and sleepy to cook for now but he’s okay to just eat outside for his lunch tomorrow so no worries. Oh my, i wish the pain in my tooth will soon be gone...

I'm Free Tomorrow

Tomorrow is one of my days off. I requested to take a day off tomorrow because of my dental appointment. So tonight I can stay up late if I want to but my eyes are kinda tired now. I guess I better go to bed before midnight. Hmm Don’t know if I can do that coz even if I go to bed early, my mind is still wandering somewhere. But I have to sleep early tonight so I can go to the Asian Market tomorrow before my dental appointment. I plan to go to the Filipino store after my dental appointment if I feel okay and not dizzy or tired. I just miss the dried squid, haven’t eat it for a couple of months already. I’m already losing weight. Imagine, a skinny me still losing weight? I never intend to lose weight nor gain weight. I just want to maintain my weight for health reasons but I can’t understand why I keep on losing weight. Maybe the cold weather made me shrink a bit. Haha I was thinking that maybe I need to eat a lot next time but the problem is my tummy becomes painful if I eat too much. I sometimes do eat a lot if the food is really good coz I also have to face the consequences after eating.

Awards! You Cheer Me Up & You’re An E Awards

Woohoo! More awards given to me by my friend Francine! I am so happy to receive these two awards. Thank you so much girl!

I am tagging Pinaymama, Juliana, Twerlyn, Ellaine, and Butchay.

Chicken Adobo

I was triggered to cook this recipe after I saw the video that Francine shared in her blog. I thank her for saving my day. haha I thawed skinless boneless chicken breasts in the fridge last Sunday. I suppose to cook the chicken with Rachael Ray’s recipe last week but after I saw the video of Francine’s blog, I changed my mind. Haha The recipe is so simple and I think I haven’t eaten this kind of recipe for a year. I mean, I tried cooking it but I didn’t know exactly how to cook it, it seems that there’s something missing. Watching the video made it easy for me than finding or following the recipe. Hehe So before I start cooking it, I watch the video again to make sure that I have all the ingredients and won’t miss any of it. Then I prepare the things I need. When hubby arrived, the chicken is ready to be served. And as usual, when it's Filipino foods then it has to be served with rice. It was sooo yummy! :)

What Age Do You Act?

A new friend of mine Laradee tagged me this. Thank you girl for tagging me. I had fun answering the Q's. :)

You Act Like You Are 26 Years Old

You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel like an adult, and you're optimistic about life.
You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

You're still figuring out your place in the world and how you want your life to shape up.
The world is full of possibilities, and you can't wait to explore many of them.

I'm tagging those who are interested to grab this. Enjoy!

A Walk to Remember

Hubby and I are nature lovers and so a week after our wedding, we went to the parks here that I haven’t seen yet. The parks that we visited were a little bit far from where we live so we took the opportunity to take pictures as our remembrance. We had fun walking around though it was cold outside. I love to watch the squirrel running around, the ducks, the geese and the different sizes of birds flying everywhere. I even saw a deer in one of the parks but it suddenly disappears. It amazed me how wonderful the nature is. I hope and wish that people will appreciate and protect it for the future generation. Here are some of them.

First Time in Making Sushi

I tried eating this when I was in the Philippines but I really didn’t eat it all. I just like how it looks so I took one and tasted the rice. I didn’t like the smell and the taste is different so I didn’t eat it. Hehe But some of my Filipina friends here loves to eat Sushi. They told me to try eating it coz for them it taste good but for me it’s nasty. Hehe Until one day one of my friends made it herself and I saw how she did it. Everybody ate it and I can tell by their facial expression that it was really delicious. So I pick one and tried eating it. At first the taste is kinda strong but then I took another one and I think another one. Maybe my taste buds get used to it already coz at that time I already appreciate the taste that it’s good. After a few months passed, hubby and I went to any Asian Markets that we pass by coz I was looking for a ready mix of sweet and sour fish made in the Philippines. I saw the sushi mat and other ingredients needed for the sushi in I think all the stores that we went to so I bought some for experiment. Hehe I got the chance to make my first experiment yesterday and the result is in the picture below. It’s yummy but I can’t eat a lot so I made just enough for me and hubby to try it.

Perfume Scam

I received this forwarded message the other day. I have no idea about this perfume scam coz I haven't heard about it yet. But this is possible so I want you to be aware of it, just in case something like this happen to you. Here's the email I received.

Dear Friends,

Please read this forwarded message. I have taken out
the long list of email address where this message was
forwarded to. Always be aware of your surroundings.
God bless always.

Atty. Jojo Perez

It was about 3 weeks ago, I was at the Shell station
getting diesel. It was about 11:30pm. I was approached
by 2 men and 2 women in a car. The man that was
driving asked me 'What kind of perfume do you wear?'

I was a bit confused and I asked him 'Why?' He said 'We
are selling some name brand perfumes, at cheap
prices.' I said I had no money. He then reached out
of the car and handed me paper that was laminated; it
had many perfumes on it. I looked quickly at it and
gave it back. I said, I have no money.

He said it is OK, we take cheques, cash or credit
cards. Then the people in the car began to laugh. I
just got in my car and said no thanks.

Then I received this e-mail yesterday and it sent
chills up my spine. Please read this. It is not joke.
Here is the e-mail I was sent:

Dear Friends:

I know not all of you are women that I am sending this
to, but I am hoping you will share this with your
wives, daughters, mother, sisters, etc. Our
world seems to be getting crazier by the day. Pipe
bombs in mailboxes and sickos in parking lots with
perfume. Be careful. I was approached yesterday
afternoon around 3:30 pm in a car park by two males
who asked what kind of perfume I was wearing. Then
they asked if I'd like to sample some fabulous scent
they were willing to sell me at a very reasonable
rate.
I probably would have agreed had I not received an
e-mail some weeks ago warning of a 'Wanna smell this
neat perfume?'scam. Someone walks up to you at the
malls or in parking lots and asking you to SNIFF
PERFUME that they are selling at a cheap price. THIS
IS NOT PERFUME...IT IS ETHER! When you sniff it,
you'll pass out. They'll take your wallet, your
valuables and heaven knows what else.

The men continued to stand between parked cars, I
guess to wait for someone else to hit on. I stopped a
lady going towards them, pointing at them and told her
about how I was sent an e-mail at work.

If it were not for this e-mail, I probably would have
sniffed the 'perfume' but thanks to the generosity of
an e-mailing friend, I was spared whatever might have
happened to me. I wanted to do the same for you.

PLEASE PASS THIS ALONG TO OTHERS

An Angel Figurine

Yesterday my co-worker who asked a favor from me last Tuesday suddenly handed me a white plastic bag while saying “Thank You”. I had no idea what’s inside but I was thinking that it’s food coz she likes to cook. I wonder why it’s kinda wet and cold so I thought she put it in the cooler. When I tried to sneak of what’s inside, I thought it’s a Ranch Salad Sauce which is the sauce that I like. I didn’t have a chance to open it coz I was in a hurry to go to the grocery store and bought what I need for dinner. After I arrived home, I then open the plastic bag that my co-worker gave me and then I saw an angel figurine. I like it very much and it’s not only a figurine but there’s something inside. I read the label and there I know that there’s a vanilla bath salts inside. It’s cute. Here’s the picture of the angel figurine.

Friday is Fish Day!

I saw Paula’s Home Cooking episode today in the food network while I was on break. She had fish in one of her recipes and so I decided to try it. She’s using the red snapper but when I went to the grocery store to buy it, it’s not available. So instead of buying the red snapper, I bought the salmon coz it looks fresh and I want to give it a try again coz salmon for me has a strong taste when I tried it at the Restaurants. I then search Paula’s recipe but I didn’t find it right away and my fish is ready to go in the oven already. I went to another website and look for salmon recipe and found one that is very easy to follow plus I have all the ingredients. So I combined Paula’s recipe and the one I saw on the other website. The picture below was the result of my baked salmon fillet. It was yummy!

This is what's for dinner tonight... Feeling Rachael Ray. haha

The other day I was blog hopping and saw a picture like this. I even leave a comment that someday I will cook that recipe. After work I hurriedly went to the Asian Market hoping that there are crabs left for me but when I checked it, there’s none. So instead of buying the crab which is not available today, I bought pork ribs and meat with a little skin in it. This recipe is very popular in the Philippines but people from different islands cook this with different ingredients. One of the ingredients is Sprite, as in Sprite soda. Hehe

Tagging Time Again!

My friends Francine, Twerlyn, Ellaine and Pinaymama tagged me these questions. Thank you girls for tagging me again. I’m glad to receive some tags every now and then. Nyahaha

How long have you been blogging?

- I started blogging last year November 19, 2007

What inspired you to write a blog, and who are your mentors?

- When one of the WOF members posted how to make money online thru blogging. I don’t really know how the blogging thing works but another member at WOF which is Twerlyn said that she’s not a writer so she’ll just pass the info. to her friends who really likes to blog. Then her next message said that she’s busy blogging and when I looked at her blog, I was impressed. She was teaching already those who asked questions about the blogging thing and she was also able to write something which she thought she can’t. So I said to myself that if she can do it, maybe I can do it too. My mentors were Dabawenya Babe and Twerlyn.

What are the 3 things that you love about being online?

- Having friends from different countries. I love it when I saw individuals from different countries who visited my blog. It’s amazing that my blog brought people from around the world and leave me a message. Though there are some who don’t use English in their blogs but they understand English. I appreciate their effort in visiting my blog.

- Hopefully, I want my blog to also make money as what other bloggers are doing though I’m not so sure at the moment if that’s possible. Haha I still don’t know the terms they used and what it means.

- I was able to share anything here especially my life’s experiences which I hope other bloggers, family and friends back in the Philippines are interested to read everyday. Naks!

What are the three things that you struggle with in the online-world?

- I want to iron our clothes especially the one for work but now I don’t do it. I just dry them in the dryer and hang them right away while it’s hot so it looks like I ironed it. Haha

- Honestly I almost gave up on blogging. It’s just too much for me to update everyday especially if you want to change a lay out or do some HTML stuff which I’m not familiar with. It takes a lot of time but I didn’t get a good result. I mean, changing a lay out, background and etc. is so time consuming. I had less sleep coz I want to finish what I did or see the result and I don't feel good about it. That’s why I just leave this one like this for now. Haha

- I am not a writer also so at first I struggle on what to write. Now, I still do. Hahaha

I’m tagging those who doesn’t have this tag yet, whether you’re in my list or just happen to visit here. I give you the permission to grab this one.

My Co-Worker Asked Me a Favor Today

The sun was so bright this morning that it looks kinda hot outside but it’s not. I don’t want to build a habit of going to work late so I tried to go out a few minutes early when I saw my car outside that had some ice wrapped on it so I still have time to warm it up and will arrived work on time.

A co-worker who’s 58 yrs old arrived after me. I supposed to say hi to her when she looked at my direction but it seems that she didn’t see me or didn’t even smile when she saw me which she normally do. I didn’t feel bad about it coz I thought that she’s just thinking on other things or looking on something seriously that she didn’t notice that I was there. After a while when I was busy working, she came to me and asked a favor. I didn’t understand everything that she said coz I was concentrating of what I was doing hoping that I won’t make any mistakes. I was half listening to what she said, glance at her and at the same time doing my job. When I seriously looked at her, I saw that she had a teary eyed so I seriously listen to what she said but still doing my job. She asked me if I can stay longer for her coz she got a phone call yesterday from a Lawyer and that Lawyer wants to meet her in a time that she should still be at work. I was confused of how long she wants me to stay so I asked what time she gets off. She said at 4 PM so I said “Okay, I can do that” knowing that it’s just an hour long.

Staying an hour longer was not a big deal for me coz after work, I normally just go home and watch Rachael Ray and Oprah though there are times where I schedule my time after work to buy some groceries but I did that already last night. She hugged me and thank me for saving her hour. I felt so good inside that I was able to help somebody that really needs the help. A simple Thank You is enough for me. She then told me that she owe me something and she asked me of what cake I like (coz she’s good at that) and offer me money but I refuse to all of her offers. I told her that I’m okay and that she doesn’t need to bake or give something for me or anything. Then she said that if I have an emergency where I can’t go to work or stay longer then she’ll be there to save me which I agree right away. (Smile)

The hour that I stayed at work for her is worth staying coz her husband left her on New Year’s Day of this year, when she went home from work without any warning or parting words and even argument whatsoever that will lead him to leave her. I know that she tried to hide her problems through her smile and jokes but when she’s with me and my Filipina friend at work, she becomes emotional. We also tried to cheer her up when she got a teary eyed already so we won’t end up crying together. She had no idea why she got a call from a Lawyer and why the Lawyer wants to meet her coz she said that she didn’t ask help to have a Lawyer. What she wants to know is if the Police found her husband somewhere.

Well, I just hope everything will be fine with her.

My New Cooking Experiment's Result

I had a pork roast meat that I thawed for 2 days coz it's kinda thick but I don't want to keep on watching it while cooking so I decided to use the crock pot and set it to cook for 8 hours. I add herbs and veggies that come to mind and make it as the bed of my meat. I didn't add any water, the meat itself produce the juice and was tender. The result is the picture below.

Hubby liked it so I write down the ingredients before I forget.

How to Regain Energy?

I noticed that a lot of people are complaining that they don’t have much energy and one of them is me. So I bought a copy of the O Magazine coz one of the topics there is about Energy. I just finish reading it and I come out with a summary that I write down in my recipe collections so I can use it when I need it.

Here’s how I wrote it.

A Recipe for a Real Rest

Ingredients:

Sleep
Meditation
Laughter Yoga
Sound

Sleep – it’s no mystery that getting to bed a little earlier would help. It does work like a bank and hours lost needs to be paid back.

Meditation – take a big inhalation, filling your stomach from the bottom to the top like a water pitcher. Exhale as you normally do. Next, look up and gradually engaged with your surroundings. Smile to tell yourself that you’re doing something you enjoy. Gently close your eyes and imagine on the right side of your chest is your heart space. Bring your awareness in from the outside. Let the awareness of your whole being enter the heart space and remain there as if returning home after a long journey. When you’re ready, slowly open your eyes as though you had a wonderful sleep.

Laughter Yoga – this is effective for the exhausted and burned out. Smile as you stand with your hands palms down in front of your hips. Slowly raise them while changing smile to a grin, then to a chuckle (hands at the chest level), deepening into a belly laugh (hands at the shoulder level), as you toss back your head to open the airways. Laugh as you extend your arms into the sky in a Y, as though you’re sending joy out to the universe.

Sound – notice the sounds around you and observe how it affects you. For example: the noise of the cars outside, the different kinds of music and the sounds of nature. There are different kinds of sounds that can make you feel relax and all you have to do is to pay attention of which one works best for you.

A Tough Decision for Me

Hubby and I had a meeting with my Dentist regarding my dental problems. In the past few weeks we asked questions about implant and bridge before we decide. It would be fine with me if it doesn’t cost much but it does so we have to weigh first of which one is best for me. My Dentist gave us the advantages and disadvantages of the two last week but today I have to decide of which one I choose so he can do the next step. Waiting might make the problem worst so hubby and I sat down with him and asked more questions today. The implant is more expensive than the bridge but implant won’t decay as what he said. The only disadvantage for the implant is if my body rejects it then he can’t do anything about it. But if my body accepts the implant then that’s the best choice. He told us today that one patient of him came today after wearing 20 years of the implant tooth because the body rejects it. It was a tough decision for me coz I am the one who’s going to deal with it for the rest of my life. But if something goes wrong with the implant then I have a choice to go with the bridge but I was thinking also about the expense. (Sigh) Hubby and I had a little talked about this last week and we were thinking to try the implant first hoping that my body will accept it. Hubby is worried about the bridge thing because he heard stories about his co-worker and his mom that they come off or have problems with it every now and then. So when the Dentist asked me of what’s my decision, I said I want to try the implant first. But hubby was kind of concern if there’s anything that needs to be done right away that might become another problem in the future. Good thing there’s a vacant slot after our meeting so I had another session with the assistant and the Dentist to see if there’s more that needs to be done first before the implant. I had the X-Ray, cleaning and checked on my teeth that I saw in the monitor of how my teeth looked inside and out. I now understand it better. So before doing the implant, they have to do some fillings first. I accomplished 2 things today in just one visit. I suppose to have an appointment next week but I said not next week. I suggest that maybe the week after next week. It’s just too much for me; I need to rest a whole day for my day off. There’s more that needs to be done with my teeth after the fillings and implant. But I am thankful to God that I don’t need to go to the Orthodontics for my braces as what my previous Dentist suggests. It was a relief for me when the Dentist told us that there’s not much to straight on my teeth coz it doesn’t look so bad at all. I just hope and wish that this will be over soon and that my body will not reject the implant. Just keep our fingers cross and hope for the best.

First Discrimination Experience in USA

I don’t know of how other Aliens specifically the Filipinas here in USA were treated when they first landed here. But I had a hurtful and bad experience when I arrived here. I want to share my story hoping that there are some who will be benefited by this. When I arrived here in USA way back in September 2006, I felt I was an Alien coz people here always speak in English and not the language I normally hear and speak when I was in the Philippines. I know I have to speak the same way or they won’t understand me. But even if I talk in English, there are some individuals who can’t understand what I meant. Like when hubby and I flew from LA to Texas, I ordered I think a hamburger in Burger King and a soda but the cashier didn’t understand what I said so I just mention the number which she then understand right away. I even tried to pronounce the word differently but too bad, she still can’t understand what I’m saying. That’s not discrimination I guess coz the cashier didn’t say anything bad to me, it’s just that she didn’t understand how I pronounce the word in English. Here’s one.

1.) I stayed in a local hotel for more than a month before hubby and I got married. A week or two before the wedding, something happened that I felt really hurt inside. The white maid had a daily routine to clean all rooms everyday and since I don’t have a car parked in front of my room, the maid knocks on the door so hard even if I put the sign on the door knob outside “Don’t disturb”. One day, the maid knocks on the door. I open the door and she asked if I need new sheets and I said yes. She then told me that I hand her the dirty sheets first before she gave me the clean one. I went to my bed and took the comforter out while the maid was waiting outside then I handed her the comforter which she didn’t consider as part of the bed sheets. I know that a comforter is a comforter but I thought that it’s part of the bed sheets as what we call it in the Philippines or beddings. The maid asked “where’s the dirty sheet?” and I said “here” and handed her the comforter. She then said that “it’s not a sheet” so I was confused of what she really meant by sheet. What I want her to do is go inside my room and took the sheet she knew but she didn’t. She just stood beside the door and so I closed the door but not fully closed. I was thinking that she might clean my room so I waited but a few seconds later she said “This woman is crazy”. I was really hurt when I heard her say that. But even though I was hurt hearing those words, I didn’t cry. Instead, I thought that it was just a part of being here in the USA that there are people who speak of what’s in their mind. I didn’t tell hubby about it coz I don’t want him to worry about me when he’s at work. When I got married, the words that the maid said were still in my mind and I was bothered by it. So I told hubby about it and he said that there are individuals who think that they are better than others but the truth is they’re not, coz if they do, then they should be working in the office and not cleaning rooms. Those words made me feel better…

To be continued…

Good Night!

Good night friends and fellow bloggers. Hope you all have a wonderful evening. Till next time and thanks for dropping by.

Weather of the Day

I’m so happy that the weather here is going back to the 60’s F. Woohoo! Actually, yesterday went up to 70’s so I went outside yesterday, I wore a plain shirt, no jacket or sweater. But I wonder why other people were still wearing sweaters, maybe they don’t know of what will be the temperature every hour. I normally checked the weather thru my cell phone before I go out so I won’t be freezing outside if the weather is below freezing point. Ngyah! That hurts my nose, hands, head and makes my skin dry and after a while it will bleed. This afternoon I watch the news on TV that there are places nearby that are on “Tornado Watch”. Then tonight I saw the lightning thru the window and heard the thunder, I also heard the rain blown by the wind. I wish tomorrow is another sunny day and in the 60’s.

Another Busy Day

Today Monday is another busy day for me. I went to work an hour early today coz a fellow Pinay (co-worker of mine) asked me a favor to work early for her schedule coz she has an appointment for her physical check up early in the morning. Then after work I went home but my mind is wondering of what to do first. Blog, shop or what? I then decided to go to the Mall just trying to window shop for the Semi – Annual Sale of Victoria’s Secret and the on going Sale also of Bath and Body Works. I’m hoping that they have new stocks or displays that they sell for 75% off. Haha That’s a good deal right? Got some from Bath and Body Works and on my way home, I dropped by at the Grocery store to buy milk for me. Sounds like a baby? Haha Yeah, I talked to my Aunt who’s also living here in US and she told me to drink milk once a day so I will be like her. She’s 67 and still very active. She said that we have to take care of our bones so I have to start drinking milk though I don’t like the taste of it. Anyway, I bought some ham and liverwurst from boars head brand for my lunch tomorrow. I now bring my own lunch because eating in the fast food is not good for me though it’s cheaper. I like the combination of ham and liverwurst in my white whole grain bread. When I arrived home, I then start to cook for dinner. Then watch Ysabella on the net while blogging. Haha

My Dental Problem that ends up in a Surgery in the Year 2006

I never thought I would have dental problems when I arrived here. I had no problems with my teeth or gums when I was in the Philippines but I had one tooth that one Dentist in the Philippines want to pull it. Hubby told me to wait and let the Dentist here save my tooth. Accidentally I had an infection with my right wisdom tooth for eating the hard croutons in one of the restaurant here. I didn’t tell hubby right away that it hurts coz I know that going to the Doctor will cost a lot of money compare to the Philippines. But time came that I can’t bear it anymore so I told hubby about the pain of my right wisdom tooth. He then called his Dentist and set an appointment in the afternoon coz for him it’s emergency. Hehe I was like “Huh?” I just wanted him to know about the pain so I can take a pain reliever to help me ease the pain but not going to the Dentist. Toink! Anyway, too late coz he already set an appointment. The Dentist said that I had an infection because my wisdom tooth didn’t grow correctly. Half of it is already out in the open but the other half is still buried in my gums so there’s a tendency that when I ate hard foods and hit the part where the gums covered it, that will hurt. In my case, I bite the hard croutons so hard that made my gum swell. They took an X-Ray of my teeth as a whole and then individually and took a picture of it too. Whew! I got tired of biting the metal for taking the X-Ray of each tooth. To make the story short, the Dentist told us that I don’t need the wisdom tooth that gave me the problem coz it’s not touching into the upper wisdom tooth (I think) which means, it’s useless and not help me to chew the food I ate. She told us to go to the Surgeon to remove my wisdom tooth. My eyes become big and round and my brain was confused why a simple removal of a wisdom tooth needs a surgeon? Oh well, we just follow the instruction of what to do next so I won’t be in pain forever. Now let’s go to the Surgeon. He’s nice and calm but the thought of having a surgery scares me. He then said that I won’t feel a thing coz they'll give me a general anesthesia and once I wake up, it’s all done and ready to go home. I took his words for that coz that’s he’s job and he knows better than I do but the thought of general anesthesia surprised me. I never thought pulling one tooth needs a general anesthesia. I just thought that it will only apply to those who gave birth that will undergo a CS and those who have a really serious illness. One thing also that bothers me about the GA if I become forgetful as the side effect of that coz that what I heard from other women who had the Caesarian Section. Anyway, before the surgery, I was instructed to take a pill an hour before the surgery. Hubby was with me coz the Surgeon said that I need somebody to watch over me just in case something happens. When I arrived at the Surgeon’s office, I felt dizzy already and sleepy. When they call my name, somebody guide me into a room. When I sit on the chair, I felt weak and the room is moving. The assistant asked me if I am okay and I said I felt dizzy and then she said that I’ll be fine coz dizziness is just the result of the pill I took. After that, I didn’t know what happen. Suddenly I heard somebody talking, I heard hubby’s voice talking to somebody but I don’t know who. I thought it’s just a dream but it’s real. When I woke up, the Surgeon said that I can go home. Hubby was holding me while walking to the car coz I walk like a drunk. Haha I felt lightheaded and still weak. When we arrived home, hubby said that it’s the only Dental clinic he saw which is complete. He said that after the surgery, I was transferred to a room where there are lots of machines, wires connecting from the machine to my body monitoring my heart beat, pulse rate, blood pressure and etc. He said that it’s like I was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with those wires connected into my body and covered with a blanket except my head. Then after 30 minutes, I woke up. I was told not to eat solid foods yet for a couple of days so hubby is cooking soups from the can after we arrived home. I sleep in the couch and after a couple of hours I woke up and was looking for a milk shake in an ice cream store here. Hahaha Hubby then hurriedly went to buy my request and drop by at Target to get more soups in the can. The Surgeon said that for the most of the day I’ll be sleeping and weak and will be fine the next day. But after I had my milk shake, I was okay and start working some chores again. Hehehe
