Choked!
Hubby and I went to the Chinese buffet restaurant for dinner. While eating and enjoying my food, I heard somebody coughing. When I looked at the direction where the cough came from, I saw an older guy standing and an older woman beside him. He sips a little bit of his drink from a straw and start coughing again. This time I started not to look coz I saw something coming out from his mouth. A black woman next to our table and a white guy on another table ran to his direction and tried to help. It took a while before the older guy felt better. I lose my appetite when I saw it. Hubby told me that his mom mentioned about a resident in an Assisted Living Facility where her mom is and an older guy eat a prime rib, choked and die. I was like "What?" and hubby said that it happen sometimes. Now I have to really chew the food I eat specially the meat to avoid choking. :)

My implant, done!
At last, my dental appointments regarding my tooth implant and crown for my other tooth that had the root canal are now finished. My next appointment will be the regular cleaning which will be next year February. Woohoo! This is a relief for me! I've been coming back and forth to my Dentist this year since January. I had to call for emergency twice because the implant becomes loose and fell. From now on I'm not going to worry about it anymore except if there's some swelling of my gums which I hope won't happen (fingers crossed).

Scary Day
Hubby and I were 2 minutes late today in attending the mass. I was feeling okay at the beginning of the mass and homily but when it's time for the communion I started feeling dizzy. I am not supposed to sit down yet coz it wasn't our turn to be in line for the communion but I was afraid that if I don't listen to my body then I might collapse right away. It happened to me many times when I was in High School and even after I graduate in College. I don't know the cause for this time coz I eat breakfast before heading to the Church. I then told hubby that I felt dizzy and he suddenly sat beside me from kneeling. I lay my head into his shoulder and ask him to press the area in between my thumb and index finger. He was just almost touching it so I asked him to put more force which he did but there were times when he stopped doing it and I asked him again to do it. I thought that he's in panic and don't know what to do coz he noticed that my hands are pale already and had no idea what's going on with me. I was feeling weak, feeling cold but sweating. I can still hear the mass but I don't have the energy to stand up. So we're not able to participate for the communion today. I thought of just getting out of the church and go home but then I thought that it might be rude to go home before the mass ended. I just kept on praying that we'll be able to finish the mass without me collapsing coz I don't think people around me knows what's going on with me unlike in the Philippines. I was thinking that if I would really collapse, maybe the people around me will just call 911 and that's it. Good thing hubby was there grabbing my shoulder when I almost fell into the right side where a Chinese couple sat close to me. It took time to finish the mass because of the announcements and there was a lady talking about charity (I think). As soon as the priest said to go in peace, I asked hubby that we should go home. We normally finish the last song and shake the hand of the priest before going home but this time I can't wait anymore. I was feeling a little okay though but I'm still catching my breath. As we arrive home, I asked hubby to get me some hot soup. I have a beef stew left over in the fridge so hubby heat it in the microwave but it's just warm. I put the juice of the stew into the bowl and heat it. After drinking the hot soup, I was a little bit okay. Then hubby and I talked about what happened. He asked me what I feel and he said that while he's pressing my hand he's stomach started turning over and he's sweating so he close his eyes a few times. We laugh and went to bed for a nap after lunch coz hubby is not feeling well again. I think the dizziness is caused by lack of sleep coz that's what I noticed in the past. But I'm not sure if that's really the cause. Hubby suggests going to the OBGYN Doctor to check me if it's about my hormone imbalance again or if I'm pregnant. We'll see of what the Doctor think. I hope I can get an appointment soon. :)

Cleaning My Blog Roll
I've been checking blogs lately that are listed on my blog roll to see if I was also on their list. I noticed that some of the blogs that I visited many times didn't add me into their blog roll. I don't have enough time to remind all those who forgot to add me so I just deleted their links. There are few blogs in which the url maybe wrong or doesn't exist anymore so I deleted them too. I hope I am right that the blogs I deleted really didn't exist anymore and if not, then I apologize.

Pan de coco
I am so thankful that I have Pinay friends here and Pinay co-workers. Aside from sharing rumors, gossips and foods, I like the sharing of foods the most and of course meeting my down to earth friends. haha Like this Pan de Coco that a fellow Filipina gave me. Because of them I can still eat the Filipino foods I crave. But honestly, I was not a Pan de Coco lover, but now that I'm here in US I learn to love the taste of it. ^_^

Are You Financially Fit? Try Bills IQ Test
I took the IQ test of bills.com website coz I want to know if I'm doing okay or not. This is the kind of website that we should read. Though I like shopping and indulging myself for buying stuff that I like but I also want to make sure that I'll be fine when I retire someday. Though we want to enjoy life today but we should also think and prepare for our future. Planning ahead is the key to financial success, having goals and dreams but of course you have to sacrifice sometimes to meet your future goals. I was impressed with the result of my Bills IQ. I thought I’m not doing well enough when it comes to budget and future plans because there are times when I get tempted to spend. So every now and then I need the help of Bills.com website to remind me about saving tips every month or I won’t be able to continue saving for my future. There are 5 sections of Bills IQ test and they are Credit, Debt, Budget, Wealth and Life Plan. I had fun answering the questions and I'm glad to see the result of each section. Anyway, the total result of my Bills IQ is 98% A. I was really happy knowing that I’m on the right track but I still have to do some changes to make it perfect. Answering the questions made me realized that it is important to keep a record of every penny that you spent so you can check later on of what items that you can live without and save more for the future. Though my answers of the Bills IQ questions are good and excellent, I still want to learn more about investing money properly so my money will make money for me and I want to know more tips on how to save more. Bills.com website is a good source of financial help especially in Debt consolidation. Be on the right track and don’t be trapped for not knowing what you need to know. Take action now and save yourself.

I'm 46% like Reese Witherspoon
I was blog hopping and found Lynn's blog with this interesting test so I tried it myself. The result really amazed me coz I like Reese especially in her movie "Legally Blond". In real life, she's a good person and a good mother to her kids.

Immersion blender magic
Another day of experimenting on cooking. Since hubby had the wisdom tooth surgery, I thought of cooking nutritious foods. But because he can't eat solid foods yet I was thinking of making a soup. The problem is he can't eat foods with spices maybe because of the swollen gums and he said it hurt. Then I remember the Arroz Caldo that I always cook everytime he's sick. But this time, it's not just chicken and rice because his day won't be complete without vegetables. I asked him about my idea and he agreed. Here are the photos of what I made.
I took some soup from this chicken stew and added to the next pot below.
These are the combination of cooked rice, potato, celery, carrots, broccoli and scallion.
I use the immersion blender to grind everything into a very fine texture.
And that's the result. Hubby now like to eat it everyday. He said that this soup is better than what he had at the restaurants. Thanks to the immersion blender. ^_^

Lucky for Hubby
This week during my Dental appointment, my Dentist asked me about hubby's wisdom tooth infection if it was removed already. I said not yet but he's scheduled for the surgery the next day after my appointment. My Dentist said "Man, he's lucky" because he thought that hubby got a very serious problem and if hubby's infection won't be taken cared of right away then hubby might be at the emergency hospital for some reason.
Yesterday a caucasian neighbor said Hi to me when I arrived from work. He said something which I didn't understand so I went to his direction and asked again of what he said. He asked me about polishing car which I don't know why he asked and then he asked me where I work, how hubby and I met and if I'm Chinese. I said I'm not Chinese but a Filipino from Philippines and I told him that I met hubby thru my cousin who is hubby's friend. Then he said "He's lucky, isn't he?" I said yes coz that's what hubby told me.
Today while I was on my way to the Chinese Buffet Restaurant to meet my Pinay friends for our Friday ladies night out, hubby almost had an accident. He said that he's on his way home and somebody made a left turn in front of him at an intersection requiring him to stop hard and fast to avoid hitting the other vehicle by a few inches. Another individual waiting to make a right turn was staring thru his mirror with his mouth open in shock of what he just witnessed. Hubby's really lucky. Hope he will always be lucky.
Enjoy the weekend! ^_^

Give and Take
One time when hubby and I went to Church, the Homily was about husband and wife. The Deacon said that the husband should bring flowers for his wife when he comes home. People in the church were laughing out loud! And then he said that the wife should cook a big meal for the husband's dinner. Again people were laughing. I was wondering why they laugh coz I wasn't paying attention to what the Deacon said. So when hubby and I were on our way home, I asked hubby why all the people at church were laughing during the Homily and hubby said "it's good if you don't understand it coz it won't hurt me". nyahaha Hmm I was eager to know what the laugh really means so I keep asking hubby about it until we arrive home. Hubby answered my question at last and said "Because the wife doesn’t cook so the husband doesn’t bring flowers". hahaha Now I know. It's because there are so many restaurants and fast foods here so you don't need to cook if you want to. You can go to the Restaurants that you like or order foods online or call for delivery and that's it! Hungry tummies will then be full.
But I wasn't feeling guilty about the Homily because most of the time I cook dinner before hubby comes home so when he arrive, foods are still hot. Maybe husbands and wives should give and take and that's the message that popped in my mind. In the past, I cooked small meals only but after hubby told me about the Homily, I started cooking side dishes for hubby. He likes vegetables so I steamed then fried the vegetables that he like with a little bit of olive oil then sprinkle a little bit of garlic salt. For his meat I cooked a steak and for his carbs the steamed potatoes. And guess what he said? "Oh, my favorite!” Suddenly, I noticed a little change. He's now more giving in some ways. I still didn't receive any flowers though but I prefer not to spend money for flowers. He's giving in a way that when I asked him to go shopping with me he sometimes go with me even if he hates it because he said it's boring. hehe One time I had a coupon at Express Boutique that expires on that day and I almost throw it to the garbage when hubby said "No, will go there and check if you find something you like". I was like, "What?" And he said "Don't throw it yet". Then I told him that the coupon will expire on that day and he said "Then we'll go there after dinner". I was really surprised. Lately, he saw a boutique for petite woman and told me that they're having a sale. I asked if they have my size and he said "We can look if you want". Hmm Shopping is good when your husband goes shopping with you. I like it when hubby holds the clothes that I pick and when I like some clothes that are hanging way up high that I can't reach it is hubby who do it for me. I don't need to call the sales person for help. Then after dinner if I'm too lazy to wash the dishes, hubby will do it for me. I didn’t ask him to wash the dishes but he did it anyway while I'm busy blogging. So when it's time for me to clean the mess in the kitchen, it's already finish. I remember what my Aunt told me that I have to give credit to hubby if he did something that he's not used to. And as a sign of my appreciation of what he did for me, he receives a big hug, caress, kiss and I'd say "Very good hubby! You're the best husband I ever had". And then we laugh. It’s costless. You only need a little bit of effort to make your spouse happy. You really don’t need to buy expensive items to please each other. A thoughtful action and words of appreciation will do the job. TGIF! ^_^

Honey I'm Home
These are the words that my co-worker and I joke around when one of us go back to work after having a break. Before when I was single, I’d like to work 8 hours so I can save something for the future. I always wanted to have a baby so I thought I need to save money for my baby’s future though at that time I don’t know yet if I’ll ever get married or not. Before I get married, hubby and I talked about our plans for the future. I wanted to work so I won’t be bored at home and hubby told me that I don’t need to work but if I want to because of boredom, he would prefer that I work part time. Why? Because he said that if I’m not in the house when he comes home from work then it feels like he’s still single. I didn’t know exactly of what he meant by that until I started working part time. Yes, I work part time and I make sure that I’m in the house when he comes home from work. Yesterday hubby decided not to go to work because he’s not feeling well. And when one of the managers asked me if I’m ready to go home early I said Yes right away. Now I know the feeling of coming home when somebody is waiting for you. I hurriedly went home and supposed to say “Honey I’m Home” but when I arrived, the house was dark and quiet. I thought I’ll see him watching TV or at the Office reading articles thru the internet that interest him but I didn’t. I went to the bedroom and saw him sound asleep. I turned on the light and woke him up by saying slowly “Hubby I’m home”. His big green eyes were surprised to see me and suddenly he smiled. What a nice feeling to come home when somebody is waiting for you... even if that person is still sleeping.

Special Announcements
I am amaze of how modern technology has changed the creativity of almost anything. I wonder how couples make or order their wedding invitations before the modern technology. Maybe it takes months and months of creating the wedding invitations that they want but because of the modern technology, a click of the mouse makes a big difference. 1st Class Wedding Invitations are a must for couples who want to tie the knot. It’s one big memorable day of the couples life so every couple want everything to be special. Wedding invitations is one way of spreading wedding announcements. I remember before when I was a teenager that Mr. & Ms. So and so are getting married when my mom receives a wedding invitation. I was impressed looking at the wedding invitation coz it looks very special. Then hubby and I received 2 wedding invitations last year, one from my sister and the other one was my husband’s relative. Both wedding invitations looks nice but they are different. The color, style and wordings of what’s inside the envelope are different. They are both unique in some way and both of them told us that there will be a wedding soon to happen. Because of the modern technology, the 1st Class Wedding Invitations was born and created differently with unique features. This is a website where you can choose lots of wedding invitations designs. The zoom feature will allow you to see the quality of the wedding invitations in great detail as if the invitations are just right in front of you because it’s very clear. Try looking at this invitation that I like, it’s Burgundy Rose Dove that looks simple but beautiful and like me you’ll be amazed of what you’ll see.

Philippine Crackers
I remember this bucket when I was a kid. Normally people from the provinces brought this home as present to their family when they come home from Manila or Cebu. Lately I like to eat crackers for my snack/breakfast so I don’t need to cook before going to work. It saves me time and I’m used to it now. Skyflakes is my first choice but I want to have a different varieties. I saw this bucket of crackers before but I didn’t bother buying it coz it’s expensive and only me will eat it. But now I eat crackers as my snack/breakfast so it's okay to buy this even if I’m the only one eating it.

Dinner with Friends
My friends and I again went to our every Friday date which is Ladies Night Out at Chinese Buffet, shopping after dinner and Starbucks after shopping. We just love Chinese foods and crave for it once a week. Besides, our husbands are happy that we the Pinay wives have time to bond together at Chinese Restaurants because our husbands don't want to go with us all the time when we crave for Chinese foods. In short, they are happy that they don't need to take us to the Chinese buffet anymore plus they don't wanna deal with going out and eating the foods that they don't really like to eat for 4 times a month. In bisaya, luwas ang mga bana. hahaha We had fun tonight chit chatting and exchanging ideas about life here in US with fellow Pinays around. Will talk about it next time. For now, here are the photos of what we had for dinner.
My first plate. Hmm First means there's more to go. haha
Mary Jane's plate. Her first plate too. :)
And Ilocana's first plate. haha
My second plate. haha Love this! :)
And my dessert. I like the banana with strawberry syrup on it and the pink cake. They're yummylicious! ^_^

Exchanging Links
I think bloggers should understand that we can't exchange links right away and wait til they're added. If I blog hop to bloggers that I add already and they didn't add me, I leave a message to their blog to let them know that I added them and hoping that they won't forget to add me. But other bloggers can't wait that their names will be listed in your blog roll. I apologize in my previous post that I can't blog hop for my two blogs lately and I need time for myself too. Though I tried to blog hop everyday but there are times where you really need to take a rest after doing chores that needs to be done. I just notice that there are few bloggers who left a message asking me to add them coz they add me already and for me it sounds rude because their using this "!!!". Well in my opinion, if they can't wait and hate me for not adding them right away then delete my link. Simple right? Adding links takes time. I don't want to burn any bridges but it really gets on my nerves when somebody ask me to choose if I want to be added in their link or not, told me to add them because they already added me and telling me that they want to be added with a different name and I'm finish adding them already. Most of them don't really visit my blog so I don't care if they delete my name in their link. What's the use of linking if they don't visit your blog often? It's useless! I'm now happy having an entrecard coz it brings me more visitors who doesn't ask me to be added in my links. Now I'm thinking of deleting my cbox. But we'll see.

Yes, I made it!
Early this morning I went to the American Family Care Clinic to get a prescription drug for my Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) again. It was the first time that I went there by myself coz hubby always go with me whenever I go to any Doctor, whether I have an appointment with my Dermatologist, Dentist, Dental Surgeon, OBGYN and so on. I decided to go to the clinic early so I'll be finish early also. But hubby won't go with me if I go early in the morning so I just decided to go by myself and hubby told me that it will be a good practice for me. hehe I just felt confident when hubby told me what to do when I'm there. It wasn't really hard as what I thought it was. So now if I have health problems, I can go to the Doctor by myself. Yes, I made it! Success! Whew!

I hate myself just now...
Grrrr! Really, I hate myself just now but I learned a lesson. I deleted the opps that I posted here because it wasn't approved and I hate looking at the thumbs down. I was thinking that to make it fair, I will delete the opps that the advertisers didn't pay for it so they won't get a free advertising from me. Who knows that they just don't want to pay coz they want free advertising from bloggers like me and think that I won't bother to delete it? Anyway, I had one opps before that wasn't approved also but 3P's didn't give me any reason whatsoever if I can fix it or not. But then I save it just in case 3P's will send me a message how I can fix it and resubmit it again. Too bad, 3P's didn't send any message about the first thumbs down that I got from them so when I had the second thumbs down I just deleted it right away and didn't save it. Now I received a message on how to fix the second opps that I deleted after I think a week of deleteing it and I can't retrieve it anymore coz I also deleted my recycle bin this afternoon. Urrgh! What made me sad is I spent more than an hour when I made it because it needs 300 words. Grrrr! And the only mistake I made is I think I forgot to put the link. huhuhu Now if I want to resubmit it again then I have to make another one from scratch which means more than an hour. (sigh)

Philippine Mango?
What do you think? ^_^ Looks like the Philippines sweet Mango right? But no, these mangoes are not from the Philippines but from Mexico and I got these mangoes from the Asian Market. Hmm It's really yummy whether you eat it fresh or make a mango float out of it and share it with friends. It reminds me of Philippines which makes me happy every time I eat it and at the same time saying "Taste like Philippine mango". haha

I got this from my friend Butchay. I thought that it's fun to name 10 places that you'd love to travel which you haven't visit yet.
Here's mine:
1. Paris - I don't know what's in there but I know that there are lots of tourists who wants to visit there from around the world. I want to experience being there and see it for myself why people from around the world keep on coming back to this place.
2. Bahamas - A friend of mine thru the internet said this place is great if you are a nature lover. I love nature and this place might be the good place for me to unwind while exploring of what this place has to offer.
3. Rome - I want to see where the Pope lives because I'm a Roman Catholic.
4. Italy - I love pasta and Italian cooking so I think it would be nice to visit this place and taste the foods there and at the same time see what Italy looks like.
5. Hawaii - I want to see the nice beaches and want to eat Filipino foods there. This place has a lot of Filipinos and the climate is just like the climate in the Philippines so visiting this place would probably make me feel that I'm in the Philippines.
6. Los Angeles - I just want to see what this place look like.
7. New York - I know the song New York but I don't know what's in this place. I want to see of what's in there.
8. Egypt - I've seen movies where there are pyramids and I want to see the real pyramids.
9. Hongkong - I think this place is good for shopping. hehe
10. Australia - I think this place is nice.

Celebrate the 4th of July Today!
Today is already the 5th of July but the celebration didn't end yesterday because there are more fireworks show today. Hubby and I wasn't able to watch the fireworks live yesterday because we went to a birthday party of my friend's son. We leave at the party 30 minutes before the fireworks starts and going to the fireworks venue will take 25 minutes from where we are so we thought that we might be stuck on the road and parking might be difficult at that time already. Anyways, we still have another chance to watch some fireworks today which what we really did. The sky looks a little darker which we thought it might rain but it didn't. There were lightnings which made the show started earlier but it was a successful one. Here are some photos of today's event. :)

I'm so Sorry...
I might not be able to blog hop this week again. I tried to open both my new blog and this blog to check if I have some comment that needs to be moderated and try to post/update this blog everyday if possible but I don't have the time to blog hop for everybody who visit and leave comments or message in my cbox here and in my Life here and there blog. This week will be a busy week plus I'm trying to sleep early coz I'm having insomnia again. I don't like the feeling of wanting to go to sleep then my mind is still awake because I'm used to sleeping late already. It's not right and I need to fix this bad sleeping habit that I have. Thanks for the visit and I'll visit your blog if I have enough time to blog hop which I think would be one at a time (mahina po ang kalaban). Again, sorry.

Bag clip
As you can see in the picture below, all the junk foods that I opened have a bag clip to close it again hoping that all of them will still be crispy the next time I eat them. I eat like a rat, just a little bit and then finish, that's it! hehe I guess if this junk foods are in the Philippines, I don't think I need a bag clip for each of these. Why? Because I have nieces, nephews, neighbors, family and relatives that will eat with me. It's nice to eat when you have a partner/s who also eat what you eat and have a little chit chat while eating. I'm sure you won't notice that the foods in front of you are almost gone when you enjoy the company of your partner and at the same time eating while talking interesting topics. Oh boy, I miss those times. Hubby is not a good partner when it comes to junk foods. He said it's not good for him so I end up eating the junk foods by myself and it's booooringgggggg. ^_^
